‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ is an upcoming live-action series set to broaden the Star Wars universe. It’s set for a 2024 premiere on Disney+ (no specific release date yet) and was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford.
The series follows a group of kids, probably Force-sensitive, who must embark on an adventure to find their way back home after a mysterious discovery leads them astray.
Kerry Condon, who stars in ‘Skeleton Crew,’ shared her surprise about working with children on the show. She mentioned how this production differs greatly from anything we’ve previously seen in Star Wars.
It’s so great. I don’t even have kids, but I’d pay to see this. I loved it. I loved being on it. There was something about it that was so innocent and playful and lovely. People say don’t work with kids or animals, but I don’t know about that.

There are plenty of ways to describe what happened at Caesars Palace on Wednesday when Universal Pictures delivered Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters to the Colosseum stage. Some examples: The film whipped up a frenzy; exclusive footage spun through Sin City; action scenes blew away theater owners, etc., etc.
All of the above work as Universal debuted never-before-seen scenes of the summer release courtesy of Chung and his castmembers Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, who turned up for an extended introduction.
Chung was first to walk out — an appearance that marked his first time at CinemaCon — and the director said that many in the audience might be wondering why he decided to jump into summer blockbuster tentpole territory after carving out a career in independent film. “I’ve been fascinated by tornadoes all my life,” he said, adding that he grew up in Arkansas, where tornadoes were just a way of life.

An intergalactic crime spree leads to the unraveling of a dark conspiracy in the new trailer for The Acolyte, the next Star Wars series set to premiere June 4 on Disney+.
The new series stars Lee Jung-jae and Amandla Stenberg, the former playing Sol, a revered Jedi master, and the latter playing Mae, his one-time padawan, who’s grown into a dangerous warrior. Their paths cross years later as they set out to investigate a series of harrowing murders targeting Jedi.

The disaster film Twister (watch it Here) was a massive success for Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, and Amblin Entertainment when it was released during the summer movie season in 1996. Made on a budget of $90 million, it earned almost $500 million at the global box office and ranked as the tenth highest-grossing film of all time. Quickly cashing in with a sequel would have made a lot of sense. But while there were rumors – including a memorable one that said the sequel would involve a tornado hitting a major city – a follow-up never made it into production. Until now. Universal and Amblin are reviving the Twister IP with a film called Twisters, which is set to receive a theatrical release on July 19, 2024. Twenty-eight years later, will it be able to replicate or surpass the success of its predecessor? We’ll have to wait and see. But for know, we’re going to...

Super Bowl Sunday offered an exciting first look at the storm-chasing chaos that will be coming this summer, as Warner Bros. premiered the first teaser for Twisters, the follow-up to 1996’s smash movie Twister.
Twisters | Official Trailer
Twisters Trailer: Glen Powell & Daisy Edgar-Jones Headline Stormy Adventure, Teased at Super Bowl 2024
The Twisters trailer depicts a dynamic that’s not too dissimilar to the 1997 original: we have a team of scientists striving to make an impact.
Then we’ve got their rival. But contrary to Cary Elwes’ Jonas Miller, who is in it for the money, Glen Powell gives it his all as he hunts down ‘the finger of god’ for the pure joy of it. The film is a lot of fun, and just the type of summer popcorn movie viewers want.

All anybody wants to talk about these days is flooding, winter vortexes, and other natural disasters stemming from the ongoing climate crisis. Well, apparently, the tornado from "Twister" got wind of this (I'm sorry) and is back with a vengeance in the newly unveiled Super Bowl trailer for "Twisters."
Neither a direct follow-up to director Jan de Bont's 1996 natural disaster thriller nor a complete reboot of the franchise, "Twisters" follows a new team of storm chasers as they battle destructive cyclones in the present day. Apparently, at one point, "Twister" star Helen Hunt and "Blindspotting" co-writers/co-stars Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal pitched a proper legacy sequel that, according to Hunt, would've focused on "all Black and Brown storm chasers." However, the studio powers that be didn't go for it for "potentially shady" reasons, as Diggs told Business Insider last year.

Malia Obama, 25, daughter of former President Barack Obama, just made her debut at the Sundance Film Festival with her short film The Heart.
Malia released her 18-minute short film at the festival. She is making a name for herself that goes beyond her title as former first daughter.
Malia is no stranger to the art of film production. She studied visual and environmental studies at Harvard University in addition to an internship with the Weinstein Company in 2017. After finishing her degree, she worked as a writer for an Amazon series titled Swarm. This show was created by Donald Glover, who also helped produce Obama’s short film.
“The first thing we did was talk about the fact that she will only get to do this once,” Glover told GQ about the production of the short. “You’re Obama’s daughter. So if you make a bad film, it will follow you around.

Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has given fans an update on his next solo album in a message that also calls for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas.
In an Instagram post, O’Brien thanked his “little community” of fans and explained that he had needed a break. “I’m deep into my next record, and deep in the process,” he wrote. “I will share some more soon … from music to influences to gear .. all of it… it’s been and continues to be a journey..Sending love and warmth from me and Ziggy.”
Earlier in the message, O’Brien apologized for not commenting on the heightened Gaza conflict earlier. “Like so many of you I have found the events of October 7 and what has followed too awful for words .. anything that I have tried to write feels so utterly inadequate,” he said. “Ceasefire now. Twenty-seven years after the release of the blockbuster disaster film Twister (watch it Here), Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have finally put a follow-up on the fast track to release – but they’re not calling it a sequel. Scheduled to receive a theatrical release on July 19, 2024, Twisters has been described as a “new chapter” in what is about to become a franchise… and during an interview with Vogue, cast member Glen Powell – who can currently be seen on the big screen in the romantic comedy Anyone but You – confirmed that the film tells a standalone story. But even without any connection to the original film, he believes that it’s something that will be able to connect to everyone around the world.
Powell told Vogue (with thanks to Deadline for sharing the text) that Twisters is “definitely not a reboot. We’re not trying to recreate the story from the first one.

Glen Powell is preparing his Broadway debut and is working with producer Ryan Murphy to make it happen.
The Anyone but You star is reuniting with the Scream Queens co-creator, the horror series in which he starred back in 2015, playing the role of Chad Radwell.
“Ryan Murphy and I, we’re actually making a musical together. We don’t really have any plans to be back in the television world together, but we’ll be on Broadway together,” Powell told Vogue.
When asked if the Broadway musical had anything to do with his character in the 2015 series, Powell said, “The Chad Radwell Musical. That’s the funniest idea. Just the Dickie Dollar Scholars. The amount of people that come up to me about Scream Queens is shocking, probably more than anything else I’ve done. Maybe it ages like a fine wine.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Nathan W. Pyle’s Strange Planet comics, they usually go something like this: Two unnamed balloon-headed aliens engage in a brief chat about whatever they’re doing. The activities themselves are usually mundane — hiking, snacking, petting a cat. What’s odd is the way they talk about them, with a frankness that so much of human language and culture has been designed to avoid.
“We have things but we have hidden them,” a couple announce to guests entering their just-cleaned home. “Now feel completely helpless,” a dentist tells a reclining patient. Suntans are “star damage,” a kiss is a “mouthpush,” tea is “hot leaf liquid.” The cleverest strips turn the banal alien, and occasionally tap into the bigger fears undergirding all these deceptions and distractions: “Life will be full of unpleasant sensations,” a parent gently reprimands a child refusing to eat their “leaves” (i.e.

Mark Hamill is reflecting on his time playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars film saga and saying he’s ready to move on.
“I had my time, and that’s good. But that’s enough,” he said during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning.
Hamill has been playing Luke since “A New Hope” was released back in 1977. The actor most recently reprised his role in 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker.
Despite Hamill saying he’s had “enough,” he leaves the door open to having a conversation to continue the role but doesn’t think there’s more story for Luke to have.
“Well, you never say never. I just don’t see any reason to,” he added. “Let me put it that way: I mean, they have so many stories to tell, they don’t need Luke anymore.”

Exclusive: Animated drama series Pantheon, which stars the voices of Daniel Dae Kim, Paul Dano and Taylor Schilling, is the latest series to be scrapped at AMC Networks.
The series has been canceled after one season, despite a two-season order, and pulled from AMC’s streaming service as part of the company’s cost-cutting drive. The second season, which had been produced, will not air.
Pantheon joins shows such as Demascus, Invitation to a Bonfire and the second seasons of 61st Street and Moonhaven, which were all axed as part of a one-time tax write-down at the end of last year.
This write-down features around 400M of content and was revealed in an SEC filing in December.

If you're wondering what "The Idol" is selling, that's sex. That's what they're selling. At least, that's according to Jane Adam's character in the latest teaser for the upcoming HBO series from Grammy Award-winning artist Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye, "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson, and Reza Fahim.
The six-episode drama is set to follow Lily-Rose Depp as a pop singer named Jocelyn that enters a romance with an enigmatic self-help guru played by Tesfaye who turns out to be a cult leader. And though we don't know much about the plot beyond that for what's being called "the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood" or when we can finally expect the series premiere, a brand new teaser has just been released that officially unveils members of the cast for the first time.

It’s all about money, drugs and orgies in the first trailer for Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Sam Levinson’s new HBO series The Idol.
Dropping Sunday, the minute-and-a-half teaser features the first footage from the upcoming show starring Lily-Rose Depp, which is pitched in the trailer as being “from the sick and twisted minds” of its co-creators.
Topless women, popped champagne bottles and a car ride under the California sun to a blindingly white mansion open the wild teaser, which features only a few lines from its stars.
“Lick it. Spank it. Drop it,” a woman can be heard saying over scenes of Tesfaye punching the air and Depp surrounded by dancers, before words flash across the screen promising, “The sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.”
“Why don’t you just be yourself,” The Weeknd’s character at one point asks Depp’s.

HBO and the Weeknd have released a teaser for “The Idol,” the network’s upcoming dramatic series starring the singer and Lily-Rose Depp.
The footage begins announcing the “sick and twisted minds” of series co-creators Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Sam Levinson, who is also behind the network’s hit series “Euphoria.” The teaser then launches into a hyperactive montage of Hollywood mansions, colorful parties, cocaine ingestion and fast cars.
“More, more, more, orgy!” yells a voice in the trailer.
The trailer concludes with a tense interaction between Depp’s character and an unseen figure, supposedly Tesfaye’s character, that asks, “Do you trust me?”
“Not really,” Depp’s character says with a smile.
Co-created by Tesfaye, Levinson and Reza Fahim, “The Idol” is set against the backdrop of the music industry. The plot follows a self-help guru and cult leader who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.

“The Idol” director Amy Seimetz will no longer be involved in the music industry-based drama hailing from “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, pop-r&b artist The Weeknd (née Abel Tesfaye) and Reza Fahim, according to multiple outlets.
Seimetz co-created the anthology series “The Girlfriend Experience” based on Steven Soderbergh’s 2009 film of the same name and has directed episodes of “Outer Range” and “Atlanta.” Her role will likely be taken over by Levinson, who has previously directed episodes of HBO’s Twitter-favorite glossy teen drama.
The exit comes a day after HBO revealed that the project is undergoing a major overhaul with significant reshoots and will be adjusting its cast and crew accordingly.

The Idol will be going through some changes. On Monday, HBO said the forthcoming series — created by The Weeknd and Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson — will be adjusting its cast and crew to “evolve” the vision of the show.
“The Idol’s creative team continues to build, refine, and evolve their vision for the show and they have aligned on a new creative direction,” HBO said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “The production will be adjusting its cast and crew accordingly to best serve this new approach to the series.
