Cristina Amaral attended the School of Communication and Arts (ECA) of University of São Paulo, where she pursued a Bachelors in Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Film. As film editor some of her credits are

Abaixo a Gravidade (2017). More recently, she has been working alongside a new generation of directors such as
Adirley Queirós,
Joana Pimenta,
Djin Sganzerla e
Jo Serfaty. She was married to
Andrea Tonacci until his death, in 2016.
