Orion Television has set a Sept. 16 debut for its newest syndicated court show “Personal Injury Court,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.
Led by Judge Gino Brogdon, the new series will join the seventh season of “Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court” and the third season of “Couples Court With The Cutlers.” All three shows are created and executive produced by David Armour.
“Personal Injury Court” uses videos, testimony, accident recreation and eye-witness accounts to determine who is responsible for the injuries presented in each case. Watch a teaser for the series above.
Brogdon has served for nearly 10 years on the busiest trial bench in the Southeast Atlanta’s own Fulton County, presiding over civil cases worth billions of dollars including gun litigation, wrongful death, high stakes and complex business and construction disputes, product liability, catastrophic injury, premises liability, class action, aviation, insurance and contract disputes.

After several fallow years, the first-run syndication marketplace has come back to life with a half-dozen daytime strips on deck to premiere in fall 2019, including notably big-budget talk show efforts hosted by Kelly Clarkson for NBCUniversal and Tamron Hall for Disney.
This burst of activity — and what it says about the willingness by studios and station owners to invest in high-end daytime programming — is sure to be a hot topic as executives, producers and advertisers gather in Miami this month for the annual Natpe conference, which runs Jan. 21-24 at the Fontainebleau Hotel.
“There are so many opportunities to tell stories in this daypart,” says Alex Duda, executive producer of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
2019’s bumper crop marks the highest volume of new series from major distributors since 2012. That year, five syndie talk shows premiered in the race to grab ahold of Oprah Winfrey’s audience 12 months after Winfrey wrapped...

MGM will rollout two half-hour syndicated strips for fall 2019: “The Drama” and “Personal Injury Court.”
“Drama” revolves around a cast of experts giving humorous advice to people for problems submitted via social media. “Personal Injury Court” offers a more detailed look at cases involving claims of personal injuries. MGM hopes both shows will attract station buyers at the Natpe conference in Miami later this month.
“With the recent renewals of our popular syndicated court strips ‘Paternity Court’ and ‘Couples Court,’ and now the addition of ‘Personal Injury Court’ and ‘The Drama,’ we are doubling down on our commitment to bring high quality daytime programming to viewers,” said Barry Poznick, MGM’s president of unscripted television.
“Drama” recently had a quiet test run in Los Angeles and Phoenix.

Orion Television is set to distribute “Couples Court” in 73 percent of the country this fall, so you should probably get to know what the heck it is. Legal experts and trial attorneys Dana and Keith Cutler will become the first-ever married couple to preside over a television courtroom, one in which couples come to share their stories of cheating. The husband and wife presiders have been married and practicing law together for nearly 30 years, if readers were wondering about their qualifications. Speaking of legitimacy, the half-hour, year-round weekday syndicated strip hails from David Armour (“Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court,” pictured above). Produced.

When you hear the title "Paternity Court," it's easy to think of those chair-throwing moments on "Maury" and cringe -- something host Lauren Lake knows all too well.
Howver, the nationally syndicated program, which airs on 140 stations nationwide and is currently #1 in the ratings in the freshman category, beating "Bethenny," "The Queen Latifah Show" and "The Arsenio Hall Show," deviates from the "Maury" model by helping litigants resolve legal issues involving paternity in a manner that respects them, rather than turning them into a spectacle -- a course of action that Lake, an attorney and legal advisor who's regularly contributed to shows like "The View," "Good Morning America" and "Today," tells Zap2it.com was necessary in her taking the job.
It was not only a conscious decision, it was a condition. I would've not been a part of a project that didn't represent families and children well. My entire...

To follow up the popular Tubefilter Pitch Camp at the Digital Hollywood Content Summit, we took the show on the road to the East Coast. Yesterday, at Digital Hollywood NYC, three independent content creators brought their best five-minute dog and pony show to a panel of established industry professionals who are in the business of buying and selling quality online entertainment every day. David Armour (Vice President, Development, Programming & Sales, Digital Media - Endemol USA), Wilson Cleveland (Svp, Producer - Cjp Digital Media), Paul Kontonis (VP, Group Director, Brand Content - The Third Act, Digitas), and Ryan Noggle (Supervising Producer - NBC Universal Digital Studio) evaluated pitches over four basic criteria: Originality — let’s not rehash failed TV pilots, but instead let’s see something new. Originality is always a good thing. Marketing Plan — make sure to think about not only the concept, but how you plan on reaching your audience.

Endemol USA is launching a new division focusing on branded entertainment for TV and digital media.
The new unit will be overseen by Jon Vlassopulos, newly promoted to senior vp digital media and branded entertainment. He signaled his intent to look for acquisitions among agencies that specialize in the latter because of the increasing interest from Madison Avenue on integrating brands and programming.
“We’ve been looking at a whole bunch of companies in this space,” Vlassopulos said.
Both divisions will expand, with Joerg Bachmaier being elevated to vp business development, strategic planning, digital media.
Endemol also has brought on two new executives: David Armour as vp of Endemol Digital Studios and Jonathan Sandak as vp branded entertainment.
“(Vlassopulos) has done a great job of establishing us as leaders in new growth business areas, and his well-deserved promotion along with Joerg’s is a direct reflection of their hard work,” Endemol USA president David Goldberg said.
Previously, Endemol left it to producers on individual TV series like “Deal or No Deal” to handle brand integrations. On the digital side, Endemol has been producing more brand-integrated programs with partners including AOL.
