The CMT Music Awards have a five-way tie for the most nominations going into the 2024 telecast, with Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney and the show’s host, Kelsea Ballerini, picking up three nods apiece.
The nominations arrived Wednesday, less than a month before the CMTs take place at Austin’s Moody Center on April 7.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been tapped to receive the Global Icon Award at the 2023 Video Music Awards, where he’ll also perform.
Combs will be honored “for his unparalleled career and continued influence that has achieved unrivaled global success in music and beyond,” MTV said Tuesday.
He’s also vying for four competitive awards this year for his work on “Creepin” (Remix) and “Gotta Move On,” including two for best collaboration along with noms for best rap and best R&b.
This will mark his first VMAs performance since 2005. MTV has announced the nominees for the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Top Gun: Maverick leads the film side with six nominations. It tied with Stranger Things and The Last Of Us, also with six noms each on the scripted television side. Kane Brown is set to make history as the first male country artist to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The singer will make his VMAs debut from the Toyota Stage with a first-time TV performance of “Grand,” the new single from third album Different Man, which drops Sept. 9.
It’s not the first time Brown has notched an first at the VMAs: Last year, he was the only country artist to receive a 2021 nomination, in the category of “Video for Good” for his singe “Worldwide Beautiful.”

Kane Brown is set to make history as the first male country artist to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The singer will make his VMAs debut from the Toyota Stage with a first-time TV performance of “Grand,” the new single from third album Different Man, which drops Sept. 9.
It’s not the first time Brown has notched an first at the VMAs: Last year, he was the only country artist to receive a 2021 nomination, in the category of “Video for Good” for his singe “Worldwide Beautiful.”

MTV said Wednesday that the MTV Movie & TV Awards have been slated to take place Sunday, June 5, with the second year of the reality TV-focused Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted set for the next day. Both events will be held live at Santa Monica’s Barker Hanger.
The two shows also aired back to back in 2021, with the ceremonies taking place at the Hollywood Palladium with Leslie Jones hosting and honoring the likes of To All the Boys: Always and Forever as best movie and WandaVision as Best Show.
