Most of the moviegoing population is probably under the assumption that "Titanic" was director James Cameron's first seafaring movie, but they'd be wrong! That honor goes to "The Abyss," the 1989 sci-fi flick that went on to garner four Academy Award nominations and win the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.. The only drawback of "The Abyss," however, is that its availability has long been a matter of concern among film enthusiasts. Years ago, /Film covered the rumors that the movie would finally come to Blu-ray and 4K after only being available on DVD. Last we heard, this was still the plan ... but now we're hearing from the man, myth, and legend himself that fans will finally get the chance to watch the movie exactly the way Cameron intended it -- on the big screen and through the fabled Special Edition.
Cameron announced the news himself on Twitter to immediate celebrations on social media.

It's hard to believe it, but Ozark has wrapped its run.
After four seasons of a pressure cooker-like environment, the Netflix juggernaut wrapped its run late last month.
Naturally, there are questions about whether the franchise could continue with a spinoff.
“It’s definitely something that people have talked about a bunch,” showrunner Chris Munday shared in an interview with TV Line.
“There’s nothing definitive. We’re lucky that people seem to really like the show so there’s obviously going to be some interest there.”
The shocking finale said goodbye to fan-favorite Ruth (Julia Garner), who was killed off.
Given the interest in that character, there had been rumblings pre-finale that Garner could reprise the role in a new series.
“There are still ways to stay inside the show and revisit things,” Mundy said.
“I’m sure people probably would’ve been happier if Ruth was out there.

The Byrde family makes one last effort to escape their criminal empire in the Season 4 Part 2 trailer of “Ozark.” The series will come to an explosive finish on April 29 when the final seven episodes debut on Netflix.
According to the official logline: “Marty and Wendy are rid of Helen and climb to the top of Navarro’s empire. They find another opportunity to get out of the Ozarks but some past sins won’t stay buried and the most dangerous threats come from blood.”
In the trailer, Marty (Jason Bateman) fears for the survival of his family as Ruth (Julia Garner) seeks revenge. “I’m just sick of having blood on my hands, Wendy. It doesn’t bother you?” Marty says, to which Wendy (Laura Linney) responds, “You’re so desperate to be the good guy.”

Netflix has released the official trailer for “Ozark” Season 4 Part 2, but if you’re fearful of spoilers you may want to hold off on watching — this one seems to potentially show a bit too much footage.
The fourth and final season of the Emmy-winning series was split in half, with the first batch of episodes dropping in January and leaving viewers on a whopper of a cliffhanger: Julia Garner’s Ruth Langmore, distraught by the murder of her cousin Wyatt, appeared to be on her way to murder new cartel boss Javier (Alfonso Herrera).
In the full trailer for Part 2, we see where that road leads. There are also rising tensions between Jason Bateman’s Marty Byrde and Laura Linney’s Wendy Byrde. “You’re so desperate to be the good guy,” Wendy tells Marty, while the two are clearly at the breaking point in their money laundering empire.

Not quite two years will have passed between the release of “Ozark” Season 3 on Netflix and the upcoming premiere of Season 4 on January 21 — but for fans, that’s a very long time to wait to find out what is next for Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney).
Now at least fans have some clues. Netflix released a trailer January 6 for the first seven episodes of Season 4. (The second seven episodes will stream at a later date.) Here, Marty and Wendy seem poised to be free of their obligation to drug kingpin Omar Novarro — if they can just fulfill a few more small demands. Watch the trailer in the video below, which also teases a tense standoff with the FBI, more Julia Garner intensity, and Linney serving cool ruthlessness.

Netflix has debuted a trailer for Part 1 of the fourth and final season of “Ozark,” which premieres on Jan. 21.
The series stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as Marty and Wendy Byrde, who get entangled with the local criminals of the Ozarks in Missouri after moving there to continue their money laundering scheme. Season 4 will follow the couple after the killing of Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), an attorney for the Navarro drug cartel. Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) brings Marty and Wendy further into the operation while they try to escape the Ozarks, but their past continues to haunt them.
“The Navarro cartel has been made aware that you intend to start producing heroin again,” Marty says to Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery) in the trailer. “They have instructed us to warn you their response is gonna be quick, and it’s gonna be brutal.”
“We’re just the messengers here,” adds Wendy.

The members of the Byrde family make their bloody return in newly dropped images and teaser for the Netflix drama’s fourth and final season.
“Human beings make decisions, they commit acts and that makes things happen. It creates a snowball effect – cause other people to make decisions,” reflects Jason Bateman’s Tk says in the teaser, which traces back through the seasons’ dramatic moments. “The cycle continues and the snowball keeps rolling.”
“No ending is reached by accident,” the teaser then reads.
The tension and drama that fills the brief clip can also be felt in the season’s first look images which sees Marty (Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) covered in blood, Ruth (Julia Garner) sharing a tender moment with Wyatt (Charlie Tahan) and more.

The final season of “Ozark” will premiere Jan. 21, 2022 on Netflix with its first seven episodes. The second seven-episode half of the season will then follow later in the year.
“Ozark” follows the Byrde family’s criminal enterprise in the Ozarks. As patriarch Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) put it in the series premiere back in 2017, “Money is, at its essence, that measure of a man’s choices.” That quote is laid over the beginning of a teaser for the final season, implying it will come back to haunt him in the show’s final run.

“I said I’m f***ing done!” Julia Garner’s Ruth Langmore thunders to “b**** wolf” Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) in the third season of “Ozark” – but that might not be the case for the actress at the Emmys. After garnering the Best Drama Supporting Actress award for the Netflix series’ second season on her career-first attempt last year, she is now back in the running and fully prepared to defend her crown by means of her episode submission to Emmy judges, “In Case of Emergency,” the third season’s seventh outing.
After a calamitous second season for her, the third one sees Ruth primarily back on her feet as she co-manages the Missouri Belle’s casino operations alongside Marty (Jason Bateman). But matters swiftly take a dramatic turn in the episode that precedes Garner’s Emmy submission, in which Ruth watches as unknown parties in black SUVs gun down...

This Ozark season 3 review contains no spoilers.
In December, filmmaker Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story was celebrated for its painstaking depiction of divorce, its adept use of Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson’s performances, and–to the surprise of no one–its meme-ability. Three months later, another dramatization of a failed marriage on Netflix, the crime series Ozark, continues to do the same for subscribers with its third season, which drops next Friday.
And chances are good that even more memes, this time involving Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde’s (Laura Linney) depressingly contrived couples therapy sessions and incessant backstabbing, are soon to follow on social media.
Co-created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams and showrun by Chris Mundy, the first two seasons of Ozark tracked the trials and tribulations of the Byrde family. Season 1 gifted viewers with a shockingly violent update to the Walter White trajectory popularized by...

Like an FBI Agent on the take, “Ozark” is a crime drama working against itself. The Netflix original series from creators Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams, steered by showrunner Chris Mundy, tracks a family on the run, except there’s nowhere for the Byrdes to go. Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) made a deal with the devil when they agreed to launder money for a Mexican drug cartel, and their insurmountable debt is steadily drowning them both. “Ozark” rightly sees its core married couple as dead folks walking, and yet it still has to find believable, evocative, and compelling ways to keep them alive and kicking for one or two or 10 more seasons. (Please don’t let this be the first Netflix series to last 12 seasons.)
Season 1 relied on shock and awe to great effect, throwing audiences into the deep end of the pool while knowing it was a one-way trip.

They soon discover a corporate cover-up about radiation and, in a radical coming-of-age story, Bessie and the Radium Girls decide to take on American Radium. The national sensation following the case of the "Radium Girls" ultimately led to significant and lasting impact in the area of workplace health and safety and the study of radioactivity. Starring Joey King and Abby Quinn as the two Cavallo sisters, along with Cara Seymour, Scott Shepherd, Susan Heyward, Neal Huff, Collin Kelly-Sordelet, John Bedford Lloyd, and Joe Grifasi. Batman is finally beginning in the first look at the last-ever episode of Fox’s “Gotham.”
Yes, in the newly released trailer for the Batman-prequel series’ finale, we finally see glimpses of the Dark Knight in all his shadowy glory. However, the majority of the preview is devoted to showing what Gotham looks like a decade after Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) decides to leave — and then return. And let’s just say, as much as you wanted to see Batman appear, you might want to see “Gotham’s” final incarnations of all the DC Comics superhero’s most infamous villains even more.

As a prequel series, there’s always been an unavoidable finish line waiting for Gotham. The Fox series ends when Batman begins.
That finish line is looming and the end is near for the series, which is set in Bruce Wayne’s hometown in the years and months leading up to his first masked-man adventures as Batman. After five seasons, Gotham will conclude with a two-part series finale that airs April 18 and April 25. The series will also hit the magic number with its 100th episode with that final broadcast. The poster released today (found below) by Fox makes it clear that the final episodes will deliver what fans have long-waited for — an appearance by a certain caped crusader.
