Dorothy Bernard's daughter, Marjorie van Buren (1910-1997), known by
all as "Midge" became the very first employee of the Screen Actors
Guild in July 1933. Actor Kenneth Thomson hired her, and she remained
with the Guild until the end of 1975.
Dorothy Bernard also toured with Frank("The Wizard of Oz") Morgan in
the stage play "The Man Who Came Back" in 1918/1919.
Dorothy Bernard spent her childhood years in Portland, Oregon where she was a child actress, and her father, William, worked as a manager for a stock company. D.W. Griffith also worked with her father.
