Bill Cosby has been sued again for sexual assault, this time in Nevada under a newly-enacted law that eliminates the statute of limitations for civil cases.
The nine women bringing the suit are Janice Dickinson, Lise-Lotte Lublin, Janice Baker Kinney, Lili Bernard, Heidi Thomas, Linda Kirkpatrick, Rebecca Cooper, Pam Joy Abeyta and Angela Leslie.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for Nevada, accuses Cosby of using his “enormous power, fame and prestige” to target each of them. The suit alleges the assaults took place between 1979 and 1992 in Nevada. Each of the plaintiffs maintain that Cosby either drugged them, or sought to do so. You can read details of their claims here.
In a statement to NBC News, which broke the story, the entertainer’s spokesperson accused the women suing Cosby of being motivated by their “addiction to massive amounts of media attention and greed.”

Nevada’s new state law removes the statutes of limitations for sexual assault cases and has allowed multiple women to come forward and sue Bill Cosby, 85, for allegedly raping and drugging them.
Nine women in Nevada filed a lawsuit against The Cosby Show star for alleged sexual assault that happened between 1979 and 1992 in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe homes, dressing rooms and hotels.
“For years I have fought for survivors of sexual assault and today is the first time I will be able to fight for myself,” Lise Lotte-Lublin said, who is one of the women suing Cosby. “With the new law change, I now have the ability to take my assailant Bill Cosby to court. My journey has just begun, but I am grateful for this opportunity to find justice.”

Bill Cosby is facing new accusations of sexual assault. On Wednesday, in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court of Nevada, Southern Division, 9 women said the comedian drugged, assaulted and raped them in incidents they say occurred between 1979 and 1992.
The women — Lise Lotte-Lublin, Lili Bernard, Janice Baker-Kinney, Rebecca Cooper, Linda Kirkpatrick, Janice Dickenson, Angela Leslie, Pam Joy Abeyta and Heidi Thomas — say that they were all “sexually battered, assaulted, and abused” by Cosby “in a similar manner” in a Las Vegas hotel that Cosby frequently stayed at.
NBC will air an exclusive interview with the women on Thursday.
Each woman says Cosby approached them with offers to help them in their careers, using “his enormous power, fame, and prestige, and claimed interest” in order to “isolate and sexually assault them.”

Five women are suing Bill Cosby and multiple companies involved with The Cosby Show under a New York law that temporarily suspends the statute of limitations on sexual assault claims.
The suit alleges the companies facilitated sexual assault by “bestowing Bill Cosby with power or the appearance of power at The Cosby Show and beyond.” It also claims they knew or should have known that “Cosby was sexually abusing, assaulting, and/or battering women, including on their premises, but did nothing to stop it” and profited from the public perception that he was “America’s Dad.”
Most of the claims date back to the late 1980s and early 1990s: Lili Bernard says she met Cosby while working on The Cosby Show and was drugged and raped; Eden Tirl says she was assaulted in his dressing room during the taping of an episode; Jewel...

Five women have filed a lawsuit against channel NBC and actor Bill Cosby under a New York state law that temporarily suspends the statute of limitations for older sexual assault claims. The women alleged on Monday that Cosby either raped them or forced them into sexual acts. Four of the allegations date from the late 1980s or 1990, when the actor was at the height of his fame as the star of ‘The Cosby Show’ on NBC. The fifth allegation involves Cindra Ladd, a former Hollywood executive who has accused Cosby of raping her in 1969, reports ‘Variety’.
One of the plaintiffs is Lili Bernard, an actress who guest starred on ‘The Cosby Show’, and who first came forward with her allegation at a press conference with Gloria Allred in 2015. Bernard filed a separate suit against Cosby in New Jersey in 2021.

Detailing eerily familiar alleged modus operandi on the part of the man once known as “America’s Dad,” two former The Cosby Show actresses and three other women on Tuesday sued Bill Cosby and NBCUniversal for sexual assault and battery in New York state court.
“Plaintiffs were all sexually battered, assaulted, and abused by Bill Cosby as a part of the same conduct, occurrence, plan, or scheme that was perpetrated, conducted, organized, and/or performed in New York and other states by Bill Cosby and his associates and enablers,” claims the complaint from Lili Bernard and Eden Tirl, Jewel Gittens, Jennifer Thompson and Cindra Ladd, citing the once-incarcerated comedian repeatedly using his “enormous power in such a nefarious, horrific way.”

Before it aired on Showtime, the four-part “We Need to Talk About Cosby” was the talk of the Sundance Film Festival. “The title perfectly captures the tone, conveying the reluctance and unease felt by Bill Cosby’s longtime fans as accusations of sexual assault dismantled his legacy,” said CNN’s Brian Lowry. “In that sense, director W. The docuseries is chock-a-block filled with clips from Cosby’s near six decade career including his megahit 1984-92 NBC sitcom “The Cosby Show” where he became “America’s Dad” as the super cool pop Cliff Huxtable. There are also interviews with black comics, actors and writers on the series and several of the 60 women who have accused Cosby of being a sexual predator.

The jury in Bill Cosby’s civil trial in nearly reached a verdict on Friday afternoon, but will instead have to start their deliberations over again on Monday morning.
The unusual twist came at the end of the second day of deliberations in Santa Monica Superior Court. The plaintiff, Judy Huth, has sued Cosby for allegedly molesting her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 16, in 1975.
The jurors were asked to answer nine questions, including whether Cosby sexually molested Huth, whether she was under 18, whether Cosby had reason to know that, and how much damages she should be awarded.
At the end of the day on Friday, the jury informed Judge Craig Karlan that they had reached a verdict on eight of the questions. The only unanswered question pertained to whether Cosby acted with “malice, oppression or fraud” — which would trigger punitive damages if they answered yes.

Eva Longoria delivered a powerful and moving keynote at TheWrap’s Power Women Summit in Los Angeles on Friday, saying that people in Hollywood are “largely responsible for much of the unconscious bias that is against people of color” and that “Latinas are the last to find their voices amplified in this industry.”
“What studies show is that we are being erased,” Longoria told a room of 2,000 attendees. “This goes beyond underrepresentation. When you aren’t on screen in the media, you are being erased. you don’t exist. And the stories from Hollywood don’t come close to representing the complexity of our community. This is a problem — the demographics of America are changing and it’s changing in a very Latin way, and this cultural shift is freaking people out.”
She added: “We in this room have contributed to these negative portrayals and images we’ve seen in the media.

On Thursday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law two key anti-sexual harassment bills that were prominently championed by actresses and #MeToo activists Jessica Barth, Lili Bernard, and Mira Sorvino.
Ab 9, the Stop Harassment and Reporting Extension Act, extends the deadline for victims of workplace sexual harassment, discrimination, or other civil rights-related retaliations to file complaints from one year to three years.
The second bill signed into law, Ab 51, prevents employers from requiring their employees or applicants to waive their rights under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act as a condition of employment. Though the bill doesn’t override anything “otherwise enforceable under the Federal Arbitration Act,” it still protects victims of workplace harassment or other violations who signed forced arbitration clauses that would settle harassment claims in private.

During the Bill Cosby trial, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele referenced Cliff Huxtable and the TV character everyone thought they knew. Then he told them about the person he considered the real Cosby, the sexual predator who would do anything to keep his crimes hidden from public view.
Finally, after two trials and numerous hearings, Steele could enjoy knowing he had proven that claim.
“I think everybody got to see who he really is,” he said after the verdict, “when each of those…victims testified.”
The aftermath of the Bill Cosby retrial this afternoon outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa, was a mixture of condemnation against Cosby, relief for accusers and hope for what the guilty verdict may do for other women who’ve experienced sexual assault.
Steele, surrounded by fellow attorneys and Constand, teared up at times while talking about the victims and his fellow prosecutors M.

Bill Cosby’s wife Camille arrived at court with her husband for his sexual assault trial, People confirms.
Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt confirmed that the two arrived at the courthouse in Norristown, where Cosby faces charges for allegedly drugging Andrea Constand in his Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, mansion in 2004.

The mother of a female witness who testified Monday that Bill Cosby allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted her testified Tuesday that her daughter was depressed and anxious after the comedian allegedly “intimidated” her into taking a drug at the Bel-Air Hotel in 1996.
“She changed considerably… Anxious. Depressed. Sad,” Dr. Patrice Sewell, a retired educator, said of her daughter, Kelly Johnson, who testified Monday that Cosby allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted her when she was the assistant of his agent at the William Morris talent agency.
“She folded down on herself,” Sewell said, her voice shaking with emotion as she fought off tears.

Great to be back for my fourth year at the Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival.
Jamaicans going to watch Jamaican shorts. Photo by actor director Tony Hendricks
My first night, I went with my new favorite delegation, whom I already wrote about in my Tiff It’s a Wrap blog, the group of Jamaican filmmakers to see their five shorts showing here at ttff as part of the Jafta Propella initiative to put money into the production and distribution of shorts (rather than in yet-another film festival). The range of stories and storytelling styles was a tasting menu of hors d’oevres for the festival.

Lili Bernard fired back at Whoopi Goldberg on Thursday over “The View” co-host’s defense of Bill Cosby on the grounds that he’s innocent until proven guilty. Bernard said she has the utmost respect for Goldberg, but her claims are no “bull,” a word Whoopi used regarding the treatment she’s received for her support of Cosby. Bernard appeared in an episode of “The Cosby Show’s” final season, claiming that she was drugged, raped and threatened by Cosby while he mentored her in preparation for her appearance as “the zany and very pregnant Mrs. Minifield.” Also Read: 'Cosby...

Bill Cosby can breathe a sigh of relief. At least for now. The scandal-plagued comedian — who in recent months has been accused of sexual assault by dozens of women — won’t face charges from allegations brought against him by former “The Cosby Show” actress Lili Bernard, a man identifying himself as Cosby’s New Jersey attorney said Wednesday. “As of this writing, the office of the Atlantic County prosecutor has terminated its investigation, closed its file and so notified Ms. Bernard’s lawyer,” Edwin J. Jacobs, Jr. of the Jacobs & Barbone law practice said in a press release. Added Jacobs,...
