When Christine Black walked into her Ormond Beach, Florida, house on Monday, the 46-year-old saw her husband in bed with another woman, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office confirmed to People. From the director of such nondescript horror films as The Reef and Black Water comes another nondescript horror film called The Jungle. Eager conservationist Larry Black (Rupert Reid) has a love for leopards that makes his wife cringe with jealousy. So, when he hears about the sighting of an elusive and endangered Javan Leopard, Larry and his cameraman friend hop on a flight to Java to find and tag the feline.
Once there, Larry teams up with guides Adi (Igusti Budianthika) and Budi (Agoes W Soedjarwo) to lead him through the thick jungle in search of the leopard. But Larry et al get more than they bargained for when the Javan Leopard they thought they were hunting turns out to be the legendary “forest demon.” And Larry’s adventurous urges lead them all into danger as they try to prove its existence.

For the week of June 24th, there are a handful of cult classic releases that are finally getting their due on DVD and Blu-ray, including the long-lost Monsters from Beyond the Sun by Francis Ford Coppola. Other releases this week include Wolf Creek 2, The Jungle from writer/director Andrew Traucki (The Reef, The ABC’s of Death) and season 4 of Lost Girl. We’re also seeing the home release of Enemy, the latest collaboration between Dennis Villeneuve and Jake Gyllenhaal, several indie horror thrillers and the UK is bringing Bloody Birthday to hi-def this week as well.

Director Andrew Traucki has become the latest high-profile Australian filmmaker to turn to crowdfunding in an effort to complete his feature.
Traucki previously helmed crocodile thriller Black Water (with David Nerlich) in 2007, which he followed with shark thriller The Reef in 2010. His latest film, The Jungle, follows big cat specialist, Larry Black, who ventures into the remote Indonesian jungle with filmmaker brother, Ben, to investigate reported sightings of the endangered Javan leopard.
It was filmed in Byron Bay and Indonesia. Traucki, who wrote and directed the film, is attempting to raise at least $16,500 through the Indiegogo website by December 1, which will pay for post-production costs.

Much like the kind of establishment that serves as its setting, the Rfd-tv sensation Larry’s Country Diner is meant to be a respite for weary travelers, an oasis that caters to a group of patrons largely ignored elsewhere in the TV landscape.
