- In the summer of 2001 Adult Video News (AVN) and Vivid Video (which created AVN) dropped a "Defamation of Character" lawsuit they had filed against Black and his company, Extreme Associates, and instead banned them from all future AVN Awards shows.
- Was in a huge battle with Adult Video News (AVN) and Vivid Video beginning in 1999. He claimed that "AVN is handing out awards to Vivid with extreme prejudice!".
