Born in Akron, OH, he was raised in Waco, TX, before his family moved to Los Angeles in the early 1940s.
Attended and graduated from the University of Southern California.
Died of complications from pneumonia and kidney failure at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, CA. on 12/29/2004, five days short of his 78th birthday.
After university and service in the military, he was in various stage
productions in New York City and Los Angeles before he started working
in television and movies.
Had two children with his wife Joan Reynolds: Suzanne Boyett and Keven Boyett, and two granddaughters.
