The Wiz Live! took fans back to Oz and took over Twitter Thursday night.
NBC's live musical featured newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy, and despite rave reviews for performance, there was one key component missing from most of the production: Toto! The canine favorite, played by a pair of adorable rescue dogs, appeared in the opening segment (as well as the end), but did not follow Dorothy to Oz – causing plenty of Twitter users to express their concern for the pooch. It's worth noting that in the original Broadway version of The Wiz, Toto did not make the journey to Oz either.

When it comes to TV, social media loves a spectacle – especially a live one.
When NBC aired The Sound of Music Live last year, audiences reacted almost immediately by flooding social media with updates – both good and bad – about the show and, in particular, Carrie Underwood’s performance. The reaction was strong enough to make producers worry and even prompt Allison Williams to beg fans to not “hate-watch” Peter Pan Live.
If you’re planning to tune in and live-tweet NBC’s live broadcast of the boy who never grew up, which airs tonight at 8 p.m., you better bring your A game.
So here’s a handy guide to what to you should be ready for when it comes to making the most of your “live social media TV viewing” experience:
Know your hashtags. The official tracker is #PeterPanLive. Use the tag wisely. (And you can follow NBC's curated Twitter list of the broadcast's stars, but just...

The third annual Broadway Beauty Pageant, showcasing some of the most talented hotties on the Great White Way, raised the roof at Symphony Space in NYC last night.
Fabulous men from the casts of The Little Mermaid, Wicked, Hair, The Lion King, and Billy Elliot went head-to-head in talent, swimsuit, and interview competitions for the title of Mr. Broadway, all to benefit the Ali Forney Center, which provides housing and other services for homeless Glbt youth.
The amazing Tovah Feldshuh hosted the pageant, and though the winner was ultimately chosen by audience vote, a panel of judges consisting of Charles Busch, Ana Gasteyer, Beth Leavel, and Seth Rudetsky was on hand to make hilarious commentary.
Here are Michael Portantiere's photos of this joyous event.
