Long-running UK punk band Cock Sparrer have announced their final album. The LP, titled Hand in Heart, will arrive on April 5th, 2024.
Cock Sparrer formed in 1972, preceding bands like Sex Pistols and The Clash, but never achieved the commercial success of their UK punk counterparts. Amazingly, they still feature the same original four members — vocalist Colin McFaull, guitarist Mick Beaufoy, bassist Steve Burgess, and drummer Steve Bruce — as well as guitarist Daryl Smith, who has been in the band for more than 30 years himself.
Hand in Heart will be Cock Sparrer’s eighth album overall, and the follow-up to 2017’s Forever. The band will celebrate the LP with two record release shows: April 6th at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and April 13th at Glasgow’s O2 Academy, with tickets available here.
A press release promises Cock Sparrer’s “iconic, anthemic sound” on Hand in Heart, but with a few surprises,...

No big revelations this year at the 38th Hong Kong Film Awards. The Sunday night ceremony has unveiled all the winners for this years Awards and they are all quite an easy guess. Felix Chong’s thriller “Project Gutenberg” was the star of the evening as, predictably – considering its 17 nominations – won Best Film along with other 6 Awards.
But despite the histrionic performances of Chow Yun-fat and Aaron Kwock, the acting Awards are not in the “Project Gutenberg”‘s pile. Anthony Wong took home the Best Actor award for his role as a middle-aged paralysed man in “Still Human“, and newcomer Chloe Maayan won Best Actress for Fruit Chan’s “Three Husbands”, while Kara Hui and Ben Yuen Foo-Wa scored Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor both for “Tracey“.
Finally, “Dying To Survive” won the Best Film from Mainland and Taiwan Award.
