My Adventures with Superman is one of the most brilliant superhero animated series. Created by Brendan Clougher, Jake Wyatt, and Josie Campbell, the Adult Swim series tells the story of Superman aka Clark Kent as he starts his new job at The Daily Planet, with his roommate Jimmy Olson, and his senior intern at The Daily Planet who is none other than Lois Lane. They quickly become a team and try to bring in big stories so that they can become real reporters while Clark also tries to become the hero he is meant to be. My Adventures with Superman has great action but the brilliant thing about the series is that it isn’t an action series about Superman, it’s a series about a superhero and his relationships as he figures out who he really is. So, if you love the heart, optimism, great story, and fantastic animation...

To clarify right away, James Bond, Jr. (Corey Burton), the title character from a barely-remembered 007-adjacent 1991 animated series, is not the son of James Bond. More confusingly, James Bond, Jr. is actually the nephew of James Bond. "He learned the game from his uncle James," the theme song makes very clear. This means that James Bond did indeed have a brother, but also that his brother was named James as well ...?
As of this writing, "James Bond Jr." is the only TV adaptation to date of Ian Fleming's ultra-popular James Bond book series. It came at a fascinating time in the history of the James Bond franchise, as Timothy Dalton's two-film run had come to an end, and a messy rights dispute behind the scenes kept Bond off the big screen for years. To talk about Peter Cullen's voice acting career is to take a trip through the last five decades of mainstream U.S. animation. The man has lent his voice to so many noteworthy cartoon series that it boggles the mind, including "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo," "The Smurfs," "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends," "Voltron: Defender of the Universe," "Alvin and the Chipmunks," "Muppet Babies," "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers," and "Invincible." But one cannot even begin to do justice to his body of work without touching on the iconic character that he's voiced across multiple animated shows and feature films for nearly 40 years now. Truly, at this point, Cullen is all but synonymous with his onscreen counterpart: Eeyore.
After debuting as the Autobots' intrepid leader in "The Transformers" in 1984, Cullen took over voicing the most relatable resident of the Hundred Acre Wood from the late Ralph Wright (who voiced...

Voice actor David Kaye still remembers getting the news he'd been cast on "Transformers: Animated." Two weeks after a callback where he read for multiple characters, he got a call from his agent. Kaye, who was driving in downtown LA, answered his phone and heard the news: he'd got the part ... of Optimus Prime. Kaye's response as he swerved his car: "Who?!"
While Kaye had read for Optimus Prime (and noticed voice director Susan Blu liked what he was doing), he walked into the audition expecting to get a different part. The part, in fact, that was furthest from Optimus Prime — Megatron. At the time, Kaye had been voicing Megatron for about a decade, first in "Beast Wars."
During the 1990s and 2000s, Kaye was a staple of Canada's voice-acting pool. Mainframe Entertainment, based in Vancouver, developed "Beast Wars" and recruited local talent, Kaye among them. A few years later,...

"The Mandalorian" season 3 penultimate, episode, "The Spies," finally gathers factions of Mandalorians to retake their home planet of Mandalore. This rattles Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) because if conflicting Mandalorian factions are organizing instead of remaining divided, then they will be a force to reckon with.
The titular Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) hails from a significant faction: The Children of the Watch. Throughout "The Mandalorian," he has loyally served the sect that rescued him from a Separatist army on his home planet and raised him on Concordia. He based his virtues on their creed: raise foundlings with care, protect his fellow Mandalorian, and keep his helmet on. As his counselor and chieftain, the cryptic Armorer (Emily Swallow) often tested him on his relationship to his Mandalorian piety, counseled him with answers, and forged his beskar armor and weaponry.

Breaking news: another miniseries has turned out to be, well, a regular series. In a surprise announcement at Star Wars Celebration today, Dave Filoni announced that the initially limited series "Star Wars: Tales of The Jedi" is set to return for a second season on Disney+. /Film's team was on the ground at the event, where Filoni -- a major presence in the "Star Wars" streaming world and the creator of "Tales of the Jedi" -- ended a panel in celebration of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" with the announcement.
"'Tales of the Jedi' was so fun the first time, I decided to do some more," Filoni told the crowd, to riotous applause. The news will surely excite fans of the acclaimed series, which /Film's Bryan Young called "a return to form for 'Star Wars' animation." If there's any one person who's responsible for molding the state of the "Star Wars" franchise into what it is right now, it might be Dave Filoni. There's a strong argument to be made that Filoni's guiding hand on both the "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars: Rebels" television series left permanent strokes on the entire universe. Original characters from these animated shows have since appeared in the live-action realm, with the most popular and enduring of them soon to get her own series, "Ahsoka." Filoni doesn't always look to translate his animated creations into the real world, though, unless it makes complete sense. That way, he can avoid portraying them as glorified cameos catering to fan service and instead make sure that they contribute to the grander scheme of the plot.
Filoni's animated universe has bled into the live-action "Star Wars" stories more and more, pulling whole...

“The Book of Boba Fett” hit Disney+ last year, but most of the conversation about the “Star Wars” spinoff series was around a supporting character who showed up towards the end of the show (season?): Pedro Pascal’s The Mandalorian.
We haven’t had a new episode of “The Mandalorian” since way back in December 2020, when Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) showed up to spirit away young Baby Yoda aka Grogu. What happened to the adorable little creature? And how has the Mandalorian himself been dealing with the loss of his charge? Well, as it turns out, this was all revealed in a few “The Book of Boba Fett” episodes, and if you want to catch up before “The Mandalorian” Season 3, here’s how.

There has been a lack of Superman content in recent years outside of comics, but things look to be on the upswing for the Last Son of Krypton. It's recently been announced by James Gunn that a new "Superman" movie written by him is in the works featuring a younger Clark Kent, with Henry Cavill out of the picture. To hold fans over until this Superman reboot, now is as good of a time as any to resist a classic piece of Man of Steel media — "Superman: The Animated Series." The show was put into production following the massive success of "Batman: The Animated Series" and took place in the same universe as that show, meaning fans were given the occasional team-up between the two.
Similarly to "Batman," "Superman: The Animated Series" also took creative liberties with certain characters, changing origins or designs to better suit the world Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett were creating.

The new animated anthology miniseries "Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi" is now streaming on Disney+, and brings us a new perspective on Count Dooku: a view of him in his earlier years before the corruption of the Sith took him and twisted him into Darth Tyranus.
The man behind Count Dooku's voice, Corey Burton, has been a voice actor for decades, providing voices you hear almost every day. From the tram operator at Disneyland and "Star Wars" characters like Count Dooku and Cad Bane, all the way to Captain Hook, Spike Witwicky and Shockwave from "Transformers," and even James Bond, Jr., Burton has shaped the audio landscape of Saturday morning cartoons and theme parks for decades. We were able to have a wide-ranging conversation with him about the beginnings of his career, his work as Count Dooku, and the legacy of "Star Wars."

Returning to a galaxy far, far, away, “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi” premiered on Disney+ on October 26, 2022. Answering questions fans have been asking for years, each episode explores different Jedi characters over six installments. First following Ahsoka Tano across various points in her life, and then a young Count Dooku before his fall to the dark side of the Force.
Starring Ashley Eckstein, Corey Burton and Liam Neeson, the animated anthology series created by Dave Filoni currently holds a perfect score of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes. So what are critics raving about?

Plot: Each episode of Tales of the Jedi tells a short story featuring Jedi from the Star Wars prequel trilogy era. The six episodes are split into two “paths”: the first following Ahsoka Tano across various points in her life, and the other depicting a young Count Dooku before his fall to the dark side of the Force.

Spoilers for "Tales of the Jedi" follow
Count Dooku feels like a wasted "Star Wars" villain. A late addition to the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy, he has scant focus even in "Attack of the Clones" and a quick death in "Revenge of the Sith." The idea behind his character is a solid one; a Jedi who's disgusted with the corrupt Senate and his order's complicity with it, and so breaks away. It sets him up as the foil for the also doomed-to-fall Anakin Skywalker.
In practice, though, there's not much to him. The other characters call him a "political idealist" but that doesn't really register onscreen. Dooku winds up entirely carried by Christopher Lee's presence — which goes a long way, to be fair, but can't substitute for characterization. "Tales of the Jedi" seeks to remedy this. Half of the six episodes spotlight a younger Dooku, showing the good intentions...

For better or worse, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi is for the fans. This is clear from the very first episode, in which a one-year-old Ahoska Tano faces an unexpected crisis during a hunting trip with her mother (Janina Gavankar). If you know much about the fan-favorite character already, I presume it offers a sweet little taste of the fearlessness that defines her, along with clarifying insights into the loving, tight-knit, nature-loving community that birthed her.
If you don’t, though — and here I will confess that I did not, having never gotten into The Clone Wars or Star Wars Rebels — the vignette feels like a detailed answer to a question never even imagined, much less asked. That doesn’t make it a bad time, necessarily. But it does make it a less than ideal entry point into the animated corner of the ever-expanding Star Wars galaxy.

As American Horror Stories, Marvel’s What…If?, and Star Wars: Visions have taught us, anthology shows can be a great format with which to experiment with storytelling styles or explore lesser visited corners of a popular universe. And after the success of its riveting anime anthology, the galaxy far, far away is back with more bitesize adventures. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi promised to revisit the sometimes maligned Prequel Trilogy, and with the first six episodes out, it’s already proved to be a whistlestop of Lucas lore.

Somehow, Palpatine returned. Again. Okay, that’s not a real surprise, especially for an animated series like Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, which is set in the Prequel Trilogy era. Created by Dave Filoni and Charles Murray, the Disney+ series tells the story of young Jedi Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku before he abandoned the Jedi and fell to the dark side. Along the way, Ahsoka and Dooku encounter many familiar faces, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and yes, Senator-turned-Chancellor-turned-Emperor Sheev Palpatine.
As one would hope, the series features a number of fan-favorite actors returning to their signiture roles. Star Wars: Visions, the anthology series of anime shorts released last year, is one of the best things Disney has done with the franchise since the Mouse House acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. So it’s no surprise that the has company quickly set out to work on another animated anthology called Tales of the Jedi, which, despite its instantly recognizable name, has nothing to do with the Jedi Knights of the Old Republic who starred in the now non-canon ’90s comic book series of the same name.
Instead, this Tales of the Jedi explores the early lives of famous Jedi from the Prequel Trilogy and The Clone Wars, such as Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku, Mace Windu, and Qui-Gon Jinn. Made up of six episodes, each installment tells a 15-minute short story that fills in gaps about each character’s history.

The first trailer for the upcoming “Star Wars” animated anthology series “Tales of the Jedi” has been released out from Disney’s D23 event on Saturday. The entire show will release on Disney+ on Oct. 26.
First announced in May for the Star Wars Celebration animation panel, “Tales of the Jedi” is an anthology series tracing the life stories of notable Jedi from across the “Star Wars” canon. The six-episode first season focuses on two main characters: Ahsoka Tano (voiced by Ashley Eckstein), Anakin Skywalker’s (Matt Lanter) former Padawan introduced in “The Clone Wars” TV series, and Count Dooku, the treacherous fallen Jedi played by Christopher Lee in the film series and voiced by Corey Burton in expanded universe material. Ahsoka’s three episodes focus on different points of the Jedi hero’s life, while Dooku’s episodes depict the character’s youth before he turned to the dark side.

After seven action-packed episodes, "The Book of Boba Fett" officially came to a close on Feb. 9. Its grand finale sees Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) teaming up with their allies like the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and Krrsantan (Carey Jones) to take down the Pyke syndicate, who took control over Tatooine along with the help of the ruthless bounty hunter Cad Bane (Corey Burton/Dorian Kingi). Just when the gang believe the Pykes outnumber them, they get surprise reinforcements from the people of Freetown (formerly known as Mos Pelgo). Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, also aids in the battle by damaging a Scorpenek droid and putting Boba's rancor to sleep using the Force.
After the team successfully free Tatooine, an end-credits scene reveals one of Boba and Mando's allies, who was presumed dead, is actually still alive. So, who is it? Here's what to know about the postcredits...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “The Book of Boba Fett” Episode 7, “Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor.”]
As was ordained by last week’s fateful standoff between Cad Bane (voiced by Corey Burton and performed by Dorian Kingi) and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), the “Book of Boba Fett” finale had to end with the blue-skinned, red-eyed, tube-cheeked cowboy playing quickdraw with our titular bounty hunter. Besides invoking the “who shot first” argument from the original film, the mercenaries’ last duel gave Boba (Temuera Morrison) the chance to defeat his one-time mentor by refuting his teachings: “Consider this my final lesson,” Cad says. “Look out for yourself. Anything else is weakness.”
And then Boba kills Cad — by himself, a hunter to the end, but fueled by the righteous cause of caring for his chosen family, his new town, and his desert planet.
From a certain perspective, this may feel like a fitting end to “The Book of Boba Fett...

Spoiler Warning: This story discusses major plot developments in Season 1, Episode 7 of Lucasfilm’s “The Book of Boba Fett,” currently streaming on Disney Plus.
Prior to the debut of “The Book of Boba Fett,” the titular bounty hunter with the Mandalorian armor was at once one of the most beloved and least explored characters in the “Star Wars” universe. We knew that he was the cloned son of Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison) and the genetic blueprint for the vast army of cloned stormtroopers; that he grew up on the ocean planet of Kamino; and that he was left for dead in a sarlacc pit on Tatooine. We knew that, somehow, he escaped the sarlacc, saved the life of master assassin Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) and briefly joined forces with a true Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal). And we knew that he took over the palace of the...

Warning: The following contains spoilers about the season one finale of The Book of Boba Fett, “In the Name of Honor” directed by Robert Rodriguez on Disney+.
The bounty hunter Cad Bane, who mentored Boba Fett in the deeper Star Wars mythology of the animated series Clone Wars, spoke a lot of truths in the season one finale of The Book of Boba Fett.
Having sided with the spice-running mobsters, the Pykes, Cad (played by Corey Burton) confronts Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) in the streets of Mos Espa, to gravely insist that his former apprentice back the heck down from attempting to bring law and order to the Tatooine spaceport.
“You’re going soft in your old age,” Cad tells Boba. No kidding. Later on in the episode, during a face-off with Boba, Cad tells him something that’s been on our minds all season about The Mandalorian spinoff: “What’s your angle?...
