American Idol was announced to be coming to an end after 15 seasons yesterday (May 12), but did you know that Ryan Seacrest used to have a co-host?
Brian Dunkleman hosted the Fox competition's first season alongside Ryan Seacrest, before the latter took sole control. History has not been kind to poor old Brian since, with Fox TV CEO Dana Walden joking about a possible reunion for the pair.
"Where is Brian Dunkleman? If you give me his number, I will call and invite him," she joked, though Dunkleman gave as good as he got last night:
I knew American Idol would never last without me #Cancelled

To honour Dunkleman, we have collected a few hosts of massive shows that you may have cruelly forgotten, starting with the man himself.

Sarah Cawood hosted BBC Three's Eurovision coverage back in 2010 but that hasn't stopped her hitting out at the broadcaster for its treatment of the competition.
In a column for Attitude magazine, the TV presenter said that this year's contest would be "monumentally anticlimactic" and claimed the BBC doesn't want to host the competition again.
Cawood complained that the UK was being "represented by a band they don't know singing a song they didn't choose" after the BBC chose 'Still in Love with You' by Electro Velvet.
"You only have to glance across your social media platforms on Eurovision night to see that the UK Love This S**T and the event itself remains one of the highest rated shows the BBC has each year," she said.
"I have never understood the arrogance of the Beeb which results in UK public having little or no say in who represents our fine country at Eurovision.

Channel 5's Ben Frow has reportedly spoken of his desire to revive classic shows on the channel.
Director of programmes Frow cited the channel's karaoke series Night Fever - which originally ran from 1997 to 2002 - as a format he would like to revamp.
"[There's] no point trying to do yet another talent show but karaoke... perhaps it's time to bring it back," ThisIsVERiFiED.com quotes him as saying.
Night Fever was originally hosted by Madness frontman Suggs, and later co-hosted by Will Mellor and Sarah Cawood.
Frow also admitted that he would be keen to bring back short-lived BBC One soap Eldorado, which ended after just one year.
"It would play nicely with our two current 'sunny' soaps, Neighbours and Home & Away," he claimed.
Frow recently vowed to avoid "downmarket" programming on Channel 5 in future, insisting that he would never have commissioned Channel 4's recent Bodyshock documentary The Man with the 10-Stone Testicles.
