[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Irrational Season 1 finale “Reciprocity.”] After the events of The Irrational Season 1 finale, we have to see a different Alec (Jesse L. Martin) because he now has the answers he’s been after for years. As he, Marisa (Maahra Hill), Kylie (Travina Springer), Phoebe (Molly Kunz), Rizwan (Arash DeMaxi), and Rose (Karen David) discover, the bombing that left Alec scarred was to cover up one of Senator Sanford’s (James Tupper) staffers dying during one of his events a couple days earlier; she was one of the victims at the church. One of his war buddies, an FBI agent and Marisa’s mentor Bob Caswith (Garry Chalk), is Mathias—and was the one to kill Jace (Brian King). The tag of the finale takes us to six weeks later, with Rose kidnapped and thrown into a van, just after she gets off the phone with Alec. TV Insider turned to ...

A new episode of the Real Slashers video series has just been released, and with this one we’re looking back at a movie that gave us two iconic slashers for the price of one: the 2003 monster mash Freddy vs. Jason (watch it Here)! Somehow it’s been over twenty years since that long-awaited match-up reached theatres screens, and you can hear all about what happened when Freddy Krueger crossed paths with Jason Voorhees in the video embedded above.
Directed by Ronny Yu (who previously worked with another iconic slasher on Bride of Chucky) from a screenplay by Damian Shannon and Mark J. Swift (with an uncredited polish by David S. Goyer), Freddy vs. Jason has the following synopsis: Get ready for the ultimate showdown! It’s been nearly ten years since Freddy, from the Nightmare on Elm Street series, invaded people’s dreams to exact his deadly form of revenge and murder.

Voice actor David Kaye still remembers getting the news he'd been cast on "Transformers: Animated." Two weeks after a callback where he read for multiple characters, he got a call from his agent. Kaye, who was driving in downtown LA, answered his phone and heard the news: he'd got the part ... of Optimus Prime. Kaye's response as he swerved his car: "Who?!"
While Kaye had read for Optimus Prime (and noticed voice director Susan Blu liked what he was doing), he walked into the audition expecting to get a different part. The part, in fact, that was furthest from Optimus Prime — Megatron. At the time, Kaye had been voicing Megatron for about a decade, first in "Beast Wars."
During the 1990s and 2000s, Kaye was a staple of Canada's voice-acting pool. Mainframe Entertainment, based in Vancouver, developed "Beast Wars" and recruited local talent, Kaye among them. A few years later,...

The "Transformers" movies are filled with questionable choices, but bringing Peter Cullen back to voice Optimus Prime is not one of them. Reprising the role for the first time since the 1980s, Cullen became the voice of Prime for Millennials and Zoomers, just as he had been for the Gen Xers who watched the original cartoon as children.
In the lead-up to the first movie's release, Paramount Pictures held the online contest "Make Prime Speak" (hosted on www.transformersmovie.com). From October 2-23, 2006, entrants could submit a piece of dialogue (120 characters or less) that they wanted to hear Optimus Prime say in the then-upcoming movie. Per contest rules, Peter Cullen would recite the winning line in his John Wayne-esque baritone.
The line ultimately chosen was "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." This was Prime's motto, according to his original toy bio, but Cullen never said it before.

A new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show has just been released, and in this one hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are revisiting the 1989 body horror sequel The Fly II (watch it Here). To find out what they had to say about this story of a boy becoming a fly – the latest in a long line of people becoming flies in this franchise – check out the video embedded above!
The Fly franchise began with a short story written by George Langelaan. That story served as a basis for a film that was released in 1958 and spawned two sequels: Return of the Fly (1959) and Curse of the Fly (1965). David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of The Fly is one of the most popular remakes ever made, and it was soon followed by The Fly II. "If someone has love in their heart for you, or hate, the outside doesn't change." Gravitas has revealed an official trailer for Colorblind, an indie drama from a Canadian filmmaker named Mostafa Keshvari. The film received five nominations at the Whistler Film Festival, was a prize winner at Silver Wave Film Festival, and also screened at the Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto Black Film Festival. It's arriving on VOD only in the US this April, while also playing at more festivals up in Canada. Magdalene, a colorblind black artist, moves into a new neighborhood with her son, where they are challenged to see the true colors of people. The film was developed by color scientists to accurately display colorblindness and also metaphorically address racism. Colorblind stars Chantel Riley as Magdalene, Trae Maridadi, Garry Chalk, Mike Dopud, and Seth Whittaker. There's some awful dialogue in the trailer, but this still seems like it's a wholesome film.

Disquiet is defined as “a feeling of anxiety or worry”, and it’s something one often feels when in a hospital even if they’re just visiting. So imagine what Sam is feeling when he wakes up in a hospital with nobody answering the call button. Even worse, the patient in the next bed tries to strangle him, then chases him into the hall where Sam stabs him repeatedly with a scalpel, only for the body to vanish.
When a nurse does arrive she vanishes as soon as he looks away. And then the psycho guy returns, even ripping open the roof of the elevator trying to get at Sam. After escaping once again he has flashbacks to the accident that put him in the hospital.
That all takes place...

"Who the hell are they?!" Paramount has revealed an official trailer for a mystery thriller titled Disquiet, the latest from a filmmaker named Michael Winnick. This is another one of these low quality films being dumped on VOD, so many of them dropping everywhere nowadays. The direct-to-video supernatural thriller about a man trapped in a hospital with no exits trying to escape the mysterious beings trapped in there with him. He's haunted by "sinister forces that have no intention of letting him leave." Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars as Sam, along with Rachelle Goulding, Elyse Levesque, Lochlyn Munro, Garry Chalk, Trezzo Mahoro, Anita Brown, and Bradley Stryker. This looks so bad, it's not even worthy of being described as "made for TV" quality, it's even worse than that, folks. Ugh why are there so many films like this recently. ›››

Arrow returns for its midseason premiere on Wednesday with a familiar face -- from beyond the grave.
“Laurel is back!” executive producer Wendy Mericle told Et ahead of the CW superhero stalwart’s winter return. “True to form, we brought her back, and obviously that’s going to raise a whole host of questions.”
Fans got a first glimpse at the surprising return of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) in the show’s midseason finale, when she appeared in front of Oliver (Stephen Amell) in the Arrow bunker after behind killed at the hands of last season’s big bad, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).
While Mericle would not confirm any speculation regarding time travel or Earth-2’s Laurel Lance -- who fans of The Flash have met as Black Siren -- she did note, “We always bring people back and they’re never quite who we think they’re going to be. We always...

The trailer for Brad Bird's film Tomorrowland hit our site yesterday (watch it now). In the rush to get it out, I didn't have time to really analyze the trailer's details. I was able to get ahold of an ultra high quality version of the trailer and was able to pull some really sharp stills. After close inspection, there are a few new things I've learned.
Britt Robertson as Casey Newton post incarceration.
Riots on the east of America, presumably.
Casey Newton is a Florida resident. Red Nasa hat. Beemans chewing gum.
Garry Chalk as Sheriff/Sergeant "G. Miller."
Brevard County is in Florida, east of Orlando.
From Wikipedia:
Influenced by the presence of the John F. Kennedy Space Center, Brevard County is also known as the Space Coast. As such, it was designated with the telephone area code 321, as in 3-2-1 liftoff.
John Lennon.
George Clooney as Frank Walker.

Once again, dear readers, I have to begin a column by apologizing for an unplanned absence. I’ve been very busy with work and family stuff lately, and I didn’t have the time to deliver the quality columns you’ve come to expect and deserve. But on a much happier note, this week’s much-delayed edition of Trailer Trashin’ takes another look at my most anticipated film of the year, Godzilla.

After showcasing what we hear was nothing short of an absolutely epic clip from Legendary Pictures' upcoming take on Godzilla at the SXSW Film Festival, director Gareth Edwards answered a few questions which have been lingering in the minds of fans.
In terms of the tone of the film... will it be a serious film or a campy affair...
"Probably one of the important things I felt about this film was that the characters at the heart of the story shouldn’t be superheroes," Edwards tells Variety. "They should be everyday relatable people. In the [Steven] Spielberg movies they found that holy grail, the sweet spot of having the epic spectacle, but also relatable and emotional characters. Those events change and affect the characters, but the idea of someone blatantly saving the day becomes quite predictable. The events are real harrowing and present a life-changing scenario, so we just tried to take it really serious.

A new poster has arrived for Godzilla that, while he does have his back turned to us (shy devil!), gives us our best look at the beast yet. Check it out, and help us figure out how to fill our days until May!
The artwork comes courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, who point out that with regard to Godzilla's size, "he towers ... over his target city of San Francisco, easily twice as big as its tallest building, the Transamerica Pyramid — and, as that skyscraper stands at 48 floors, that makes Godzilla himself about 100 stories high." We're not entirely sure that's accurate, but if so, wow!

Title: Conan The Adventurer 1991 Animated Series by Hasbro Starring: Garry Chalk, Michael Donovan, Janyse Jaud Running Time: 5 hours, 2 discs, Unrated- for all audiences Conan of Cimmeria is on a quest to search for the evil serpent-man and wizard Wrath-Amon, who imprisoned Conan’s family into living stone. Armed with a sword forged from a mysterious star metal, he and his friends set off on a journey to save Conan’s family and also find adventure. I probably watched this show growing up, and one thing I couldn’t stand about kids cartoon shows is the pandering. There’s always an overly cutesy or annoying character with the weird screechy voice that...

Say this for "The Killing": The identity of Rosie Larsen's murderer may still be murky, but the show is playing it pretty straight with viewers in terms of answering other questions.
Last week's episode, for instance, ended with Linden (Mireille Enos) and Holder (Joel Kinnaman) being tackled by a team of FBI agents as they were following a lead in the Larsen case. Where other shows might drag out the "why" of that for a while, "The Killing" wastes little time in answering, as you can see in the clip below from Sunday's (May 15) episode, "Stonewalled."
Linden and Lt. Oakes (Garry Chalk) meet with the bureau to share information on their respective investigations, and it seems that the FBI was also keeping an eye on the mosque Linden and Holder visited last week. The FBI also wonders whether Rosie might have had any ties to the mosque. Linden is doubtful,...

The Investigators
Last night’s episode, “Vengeance” ended on what was one of the biggest Wtf moments in television. Linden (Mireille Enos) and Holder (Joel Kinnaman) followed an extremely loose lead to an address slipped to them by an unknown person at a mosque (actually if you re-watch the episode it is a woman who slips by them and drops it into Linden’s shoe) to what appeared to be some abandoned slaughterhouse or abattoir. Without a search warrant or probable cause Holder busts in only to discover the place is deserted and doesn’t look like it’s been in business for quite a while. We never do see what it was they discovered in that locked room but it left them speechless until the FBI busted in and put them cuffs. Will this have some real contribution to the end of the story? At this point it’s...

Canadian director Katrin Bowen announced on the blog of her next film, Amazon Falls, that its production is over. Besides, the film should be in film festivals.
It tells the story of Jana (April Telek), a B-movie actress. She has made a name for herself by playing "pre-Xena warrior-princesses". However, even though Jane is getting closer to her forties, she still believes that acting in B-movies is the job she deserves. As new roles become rare for her, will Jana throw the towel or keep fighting?
Other stars of the film include William B. Davis, Gabrielle Rose, Adrian Holmes, Lisa Marie Caruk, Gary Chalk, Zak Santiago, Anna Mae Routledge, Tom Braidwood, Benjamin Ratner, Matty Finochio and Alexandra Staseson.
Finally, no release date has been confirmed for this film that was shot in Burnaby, Vancouver (both are cities from British Columbia, Canada) and Los Angeles. Nonetheless, here's a behind the scene clip of the film.

“I Felt Like I Was on Happy Drugs the Whole Time” The story behind the making of ‘Amazon Falls’ sounds like a movie in itself. With no script approved, but a cast and crew on stand-by, Director Katrin Bowen called on her friend, Writer Curry Hitchborn who cranked out a complete script in two weeks (at the expense of his health and sanity apparently).
