Frances was the daughter of Mary Chan. At age 14, she was named Miss
China city, (now known as Miss Chinatown, Los Angeles). When she was 18
she finally was credited in "Black Magic" and was on the verge of
possible future in the movies. She had been on the cover of Look
Magazine. She had been selected as one of a group of Chinese girls to
keep company a group of Chinese pilots who came to train in Arizona.
She was the belle of the ball and was engaged suddenly to Edward J.
Eng. They had 4 daughters and a son.
She married at the age of 19. They had five children. She and her husband, Edward, were together for about 60 years and their marriage ended only with her passing in 2004.
Daughter of Suey (Anthony) Chan and Mary Chan, both of whom worked as Hollywood extras.
She passed away only four days after her 79th birthday.
