Some fans of The Vampire Diaries said they were disappointed by the season 6 premiere last week for its lack of action in helping move the plot along. I feel like the critics are going to enjoy this episode a lot more because it left me with a lot of mixed emotions. The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 2, “Yellow Ledbetter,” starts off with Damon and Bonnie four months back when they had just died and arrived to some other place than the other side, after its destruction. They’re unsure of their whereabouts but notice some strange things going on. … Continue reading →

When last we left "The Vampire Diaries," Bonnie and Damon were holding hands and stepping into The Light. Oh no, right? Well, Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham are still on the Saturday, July 26 San Diego Comic-Con panel for "The Vampire Diaries," so we somehow suspect they'll be back. Click though and follow along with my live-blog as Julie Plec teases us with hints about the new status quo in Mystic Falls and how long it will last. And we'll get a sense of how fans felt about last year's overdose of dopplegangers and Travelers. 3:50 p.m. The last panel was for NBC's "Grimm" and while it filled the room, there was Zero crowd interest. "Grimm" is a show that probably could have been in 6A or 6Bcf without any problems. It's a Friday success for NBC, but that doesn't mean it's a good Comic-Con show. Apparently. 4:08 p.m.

Question: Do you have any Jackson and April/Grey’s Anatomy scoop? They’re my new favorite couple! —Lucy
Ausiello: I have it on semi-good authority that when the new year rolls around McBabyBlues will be schtupping someone whose name is not April — leading me to believe the on-again/off-again colleagues will be off again.
Question: I’ll take anything you have on Grey’s Anatomy! If you answer, I’ll make you...

Marvel animation has never been a high point of their multimedia outreach but last year G4 aired four Marvel Anime series (X-Men, Iron Man, Blade and Wolverine), taking the beauty of the animation from Japan and the lively characters of Marvel’s mutant superteam, the X-Men. Unfortunately G4 doesn’t have the biggest coverage so this now it’s been collected Marvel Anime: X-Men The Complete Series on DVD. The X-Men Anime team is largely the one used in Astonishing X-Men, and since Warren Ellis wrote both this series and part of that comic series it makes sense that he would use that roster.
There are twelve episodes but the story is split into two halves. The first is seeing the X-Men team of Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Beast and Professor X trying to locate a young mutant in Japan. They are still in the wake of losing Jean Grey (especially...

Marvel has been allowing the Japanese to adapt their characters for nearly 40 years now and the results have always been hit or miss. Thankfully, the most current offering is more successful than most. Back in 2009, Marvel announced it had cut a deal with Madhouse and Sony to let them produce four anime series based on Iron Man, X-Men, Wolverine, and Blade, which at the time were guaranteed film franchise successes. To Madhouse’s credit, they hired Warren Ellis to pen the scripts and help create an integrated, consisted Marvel Anime Universe.
The shows began airing in Japan on Animax in spring 2010 before finding a domestic home on G4 with the last new episodes airing earlier this month. Now, Sony Home Entertainment releases Iron Man and X-Men on DVD this Tuesday. Each two-disc set contains the complete twelve episode arc plus some extra features.

Ah, memories.
While our TV Fanatic staff writes about just about every show on a weekly basis, we're taking some time below to look back.
Sure, we love to cozy up these days and watch Damon be snarky on The Vampire Diaries, or Ron be manly on Parks and Recreation, but what primetime programs were included on our must-see lists as children?
We tackle that topic in the following Round Table discussion - and, yes, this makes many of our ages quite evident. Please don't judge...
Jim Garner: Six Million Dollar Man. I loved this show, I looked forward to it being parked in front of the TV every week. I had the Steve Austin playset and lunch box!
Eric Hochberger: I'm going with Saved by the Bell for sure. Just please don't make me watch the college years ever again.
Miranda Wicker: Saved by the Bell. And I'll see...
