- "I say, my life is an open book. I'll talk with anyone about anything. But never in the world believe that I have ever told ALL THE REAL SECRETS I know about Hollywood, the Industry, and the performers I've worked with ... If I haven't told it, it's because it may or might have hurt someone. That, I would never intentionally do".
- What Damon says on the first day of every production: "Movie making ... Life doesn't get better than this!"
- When asked by Rock Hudson if he'd ever write a book about all the gay actors and actresses he's worked on: Damon jokingly said, "Maybe some day, but I'll change your names so nobody knows who's who." Rock Hudson asked, "What will my name be?" Damon replied, "I've picked a name no one will ever associate with you ... Stoney Mississippi." That was the best laugh Rock had in years.
- Regarding work ethic: "If you're not at least 20 minutes early to the set, you're over an hour late".
- About working in the Hollywood Industry: "Learn to play the game first. ... Then, play by your own rules, but never cheat!"
- (When asked about what it was like working 7 years on Lifetime's "Intimate Portrait" making up still closeted gay performers, directors, and producers.) I had to pretend I didn't know them and we weren't actually friends in real life. I just had to grin and bear it. The entertainment industry is still very homophobic, even though they act like they are not.
- (When interviewed about his move to The Bay Area, and his thoughts between the two areas.) Sometimes I miss the phoniness of Hollywood. At least you knew it would be consistent and genuine ... Up here, you just never know if friends are really friends.
- I'm often asked, "Who is the nicest performer you have worked with?" I really can't say just one, but Charles Durning, Tyne Daly, Sharon Gless, and Scott Baio would be in the top 10. When asked who is the nastiest or least liked performer I've worked with, the answer is just 2 people who will remain unnamed... but I guarantee that you smell hell's sulfur even before they enter the room.
