Heather Graham and Carrie-Ann Moss are set to steam up the screen as a pair of lesbian lovers in "Compulsion," and HuffPost Gay Voices has an exclusive clip.
According to the film's press rep: "With images of sumptuous food and sensual enjoyment, the film explores the intimacy between the two through their connection with food, eating disorders and sex. In a battle of wills, one woman overflows with illusions and fearlessly faces life while the other withdraws from everything and fearlessly faces death."
Directed by Egidio Coccimiglio, "Compulsion" also stars Kevin Dillon and Joe Mantegna. The movie opens theatrically in Los Angeles and other markets on June 21.

Considering that the majority of films released nowadays feature men in their leading roles, it’s a pleasant change to see indie feature Compulsion switching it up. Not content with one actress, there’s the delight of both Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss co-starring in this upcoming thriller from director Egidio Coccimiglio.
A remake of the Korean film 301, 302, Compulsion ties together the obsessive habits of two women living in the same apartment building. Graham plays Amy, a gourmet chef with the desire to make every evening meal spectacular, twisting her culinary affection into a scheme to manipulate those around her. Upon meeting her new neighbour, Saffron, who turns out to be a child star she once adored, she launches a campaign to win over the former actress.
It all sounds rather Single White Female, and that template is one which has been recycled plenty. However, judging from this trailer, Compulsion...

Carrie Anne Moss somehow looks bored to death, well, bored and targeted for death would perhaps be a more fitting choice of words, in this first poster for Compulsion, featuring Heather Graham knife-ready. Egidio Coccimiglio (Imaginary Grace, The Big Picture Show) directs from the script by Floyd Byars, based on the film 301, 302 by Park Cheol-su. Sustaining a post-child-star career seems a difficult enough labyrinth to manage by itself, but combine that challenge with a bubbly, incessant neighbor intent on stardom, as a new film exploring the toll of celebrity aims to do, and you have a interesting dark vehicle for two talented actresses as a result.
Carrie-Anne Moss and Heather Graham have both signed on to star in “Compulsion,” a thriller written by Floyd Byars (“Masterminds”) that takes place largely within the confines of two adjacent apartments. In one, a former child star (Moss) sinks deeper and deeper into a nihilistic worldview, while in the other, an optimistic, amiable chef (Graham) with notions of landing her own cooking show resides, with little communication between the two women. That all changes, however, when the two polar opposites meet in a confrontation, and their fates become entwined down a dark and disturbing path that will challenge both their worldviews and lives.

Though Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss occupy entirely different realms of typecasting expectations.with the former generally cast as ditzy bimbos and the latter often scoring dramatic roles of shrewder women.both hit their heyday in that heady time of the late '90s/early 2000s. While Graham was bouncing from Rollergirl in Boogie Nights to Felicity Shagwell in Austen Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Moss broke through at the incredibly cool Trinity in The Matrix, then drew notice as the manipulative femme fatale Natalie in Christopher Nolan's Memento. However, the unpredictable wave of fame has since ebbed for both, and now this odd couple has teamed up for Compulsion, a drama penned by Floyd Byars (Masterminds) and directed by Egidio Coccimiglio (Imaginary Grace). Graham and Moss play a pair of neighbors who live across the hall from each other, yet worlds apart. One is furious with the...

Directors ranging from Billy Wilder to Roman Polanski to Tobe Hooper have previously found drama in apartment dwelling, and it's now the turn of Egidio Coccimiglio. His indie thriller Compulsion has just landed Carrie-Anne Moss and Heather Graham, as neighbours giving new meaning to the phrase "apartment complex".Moss is playing Saffron, a cool former child star with a nice line in self-deprecating cynicism, whose discrete cage is rattled by the vacuous Amy. Amy, a chef, has just emerged from a bad break-up and fantasizes about fame and glamour, with a dream of her own show on The Food Channel. When she discovers the identity and past of the woman across the hall, her fragile grip on reality starts to unravel. The officially-released synopsis cryptically says that both women are fearless, "but while the chef fears nothing about life, her neighbour fears nothing about death." That's not going to end well,...

I do, to varying degrees, like all the actors at the center of the next story, but doesn’t this sound like a casting report that would have hit us in 2000? As it goes, Deadline reports that Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss will co-star with Joe Mantegna and Kevin Dillon in Compulsion, which Egidio Coccimiglio has started to direct. And he’s directing the film in Canada, no less.
Scripted by Floyd Byars, the drama follows a cynical, grown-up child star (Moss) who “fears nothing about death” and a chef (Graham), who “fears nothing in life” and is trying to get herself on the Food Network. Mantegna and Dillon‘s roles aren’t being disclosed right now — I’d guess the latter’s playing a love interest to one character, the former a father. (This is based on almost nothing, by the way.) It’s a nice little quartet of onscreen performers,...
