Michael Collins, the astronaut who piloted the Apollo 11 spacecraft Columbia as Neil Armstrong and Col. Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon, died of cancer today. He was 90.
His family, which includes daughter Kate Collins, a longtime star of the ABC soap opera All My Children, announced the death on Twitter.
“Please join us in fondly and joyful remembering his sharp wit, his quiet sense of purpose, and his wise perspective gained both from looking back at Earth from the vantatge of space and gazing across calm waters from the deck of his fishing boat,” the family wrote.
NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk today called Collins “a true pioneer and lifelong advocate for exploration,” noting that as “pilot of the Apollo 11 command module – some called him ‘the loneliest man in history’ – while his colleagues walked on the Moon for the first time, he helped our nation achieve a defining milestone. Trump Supporters Call for Repealing Women’s Suffrage After Poll Shows Men Support Him in a Landslide
Donald Trump is on track to win the White House in a landslide — at least according to a poll of only male U.S. voters.
The Trump campaign seized on Nate Silver’s findings — published Tuesday — that if only men voted in the election, Trump would defeat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by a tally of 350 to 188 electoral votes.
The Gop nominee’s son Eric Trump reportedly shared Silver’s projection map of male voters in a fundraising email Wednesday morning that said, per Buzzfeed: “The mainstream media are doing everything they can to prop up Crooked Hillary and downplay the...

The ugly split between actor Stephen Collins and his ex-wife, Faye Grant, is only getting uglier. On Tuesday, audio files purporting to be Collins confessing to having had inappropriate sexual conduct with underage girls, were leaked to the media. Now, lawyers for Collins are accusing Grant of releasing the tapes, which she had secretly recorded during a 2012 therapy session, because she wanted more money from their divorce settlement than he was willing to give. "Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed...

He played a reverend and devoted dad for 10 years on TV's 7th Heaven and in real life served as a eucharistic minister in his free time, but now Stephen Collins stands accused of having had "inappropriate sexual contact" with underaged girls. On Tuesday, TMZ posted audio that Collins's ex-wife, Faye Grant, 57, secretly recorded during a therapy session. On the tape posted by TMZ, Collins, 67, allegedly admits he molested three minors. In a statement, Grant says she had nothing to do with its release. "I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities...

When Prospect Park made their deal to take over cancelled soaps All My Children and One Life to Live, the AMC producers were asked to change their original series ending. Now that Prospect Park has given up on their efforts to revive the soaps online, longtime AMC fans are left with a strange cliffhanger ending instead.
In an interview with TVLine, AMC actress Chrishell Stause says that a satisfying ending for the soap was actually filmed. She said, "I love the version we shot originally. But then the Prospect Park thing came about. We only had Kate Collins [who plays Amanda's mother Janet] for a few days, so we had to shoot our ending with her really, really early. And then the Prospect Park thing happened and they changed the ending to what you saw."

There's some big news coming to us from the world of soap. One of the best actresses in the business, Kate Collins, is returning to 'All My Children' as Janet Dillon. You remember Janet, right? Or perhaps you recall her more popular name, Janet from Another Planet. That the nickname the character earned for her bizarre behavior and outrageous antics. She did once throw her sister Natalie down a well, leave her there to die and then threaten to shoot Hayley in the face.
Recently, the character has been played by Robin Mattson -- who is also a wonderful actress -- but Collins return is special because she's the originator of the role. She was last on 'All My Children' in 2007. Collins will be back on the show effective April 30, but the character has already been making her presence known.
