Father of writers Shelly, Dari Daniels and Alan Daniels and Lawrence Daniels, a
prosecutor for the States Attorney Generals office.
He attended the University of Toronto, and subsequently received a
fellowship to study at Oxford.
Studied at Oxford in England where he began writing for TV. Returned to
Canada where he wrote sketches for the CBC comedy series "This Hour Has
Seven Days" in the 1960s.
A series writer for the "Mary Tyler Moore Show", he was a co-creator
and writer of the spinoff series "Phyllis". Earned 8 Emmy awards in
all.
