The Amazon Prime Video series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has made a splash with its loaded soundtrack. By now it is safe to say that “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and Taylor Swift go hand in hand because author and show creator Jenny Han has made it so.
The first season had five Swift songs ranging from her “Lover” album to “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” and the Season 1 trailer debuted “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” from the yet-to-be-released re-recorded “1989.” Season 2’s teaser was set to “August,” and then the official trailer debuted “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” shortly before “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” was released July 7. Only time will tell if Season 2 ties Season 1 for how many Taylor Swift songs it contains.
The sequel season’s summer-y soundtrack also contains hits from repeat artists Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler the Creator, Caroline Polachek and more. A Fleetwood Mac ballad punctuates a particularly emotional scene,...

Sam Smith is no stranger to performing in front of thousands – tens of thousands, even. Still, one might imagine it’s a task that’s infinitely more daunting for someone wearing an outfit of nipple clamps, leather briefs, and thigh-high platform boots. Yet as the 30-year-old stomps across the O2 Arena stage, cherubic cheeks rosy as they grin, there’s no hint of fear. Instead, there’s a playful glint in their eyes and a defiant expression of pride on their face. “Did I say something wrong? Oops, I didn’t know I couldn’t talk about sex,” they tease in a cover of Madonna’s 1995 self-expression anthem “Human Nature”. Smith knows that people will talk – and from the looks of things, that’s exactly the point.
Born in London, Smith was raised in the Cambridgeshire village of Great Chishill, where they performed in youth choirs and musical theatre groups.

The “Dancing with the Stars” semifinal means double the routines and yet another double elimination. That’s what happens when you have a 16-person cast and only 10 weeks of competition.
The remaining six couples will tackle two individual dances on the first theme-less night of the season — get ready for lots of paso dobles and Viennese waltzes — before two couples get axed for the second consecutive week. That will send four couples to the finale on Nov. 21. “Dancing” has had four-team finales every season since the 27th installment in 2018.
See the full lineup below:
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson: paso doble (“Beggin’” by Måneskin); Viennese waltz (“It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown)
Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas: Viennese waltz (“Glimpse of Us” by Joji); paso doble (“Espana Cani” by Pascual Marquina)
Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater: cha-cha (“Satisfied” by Galantis feat.

Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer act Sara James, 14, belted out a slowed-down version of the hit 1972 track on Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent”, showing off her killer vocals as she performed in front of a fiery background.
After the performance, Cowell called James’ song choice “absolute genius.”

In the preliminary round of season 17 of “America’s Got Talent,” 138 acts were tapped by the four judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofía Vergara — to move on in the competition. However only 55 are being featured in the five live Qualifiers. Among the 11 acts competing in Qualifier 3 on August 23 is Simon’s Golden Buzzer singer Sara James, a 14-year-old from Słubice, Poland.

Ruben Östlund might like his fish in a barrel but he’s a ruthless shot. Following a Palme d’Or win for The Square, the Swedish filmmaker returns to Cannes in competition, and if the contemporary art scene had taken the brunt of that sometimes brilliant, sometimes baggy film (the rare example of an art satire that actually worked), his latest has both the fashion world and the 1 solidly in its sights. With a title derived from an industry term for the worry lines on a person’s forehead, Triangle of Sadness is a film as vast as the sea itself, Östlund’s first real epic. It is his White Lotus, his “wafer-thin mint,” and his Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie rolled into one: a scatological rinsing of wealth and hubris from a filmmaker who, with each passing effort, only further cements himself as contemporary cinema’s auteur of such things.

“The Masked Singer” finale concluded on Wednesday night with Queen of Hearts winning the Golden Mask and defeating Bull in one of the closest votes in the history of the Fox reality TV competition. Bull gave an inspiring performance of “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree and a stunning, stripped-down rendition of “Invisible” by Hunter Hayes, but it wasn’t enough to dethrone the Queen of Hearts. The hooved singer was then forced to unmask in front of America and reveal himself as singer-songwriter and choreographer, Todrick Hall.
While Todrick fell short on his journey, Nicole Scherzinger won her first Golden Ear trophy when her first impression guess of Todrick was revealed. With three points this season, Nicole defeated fellow panelists Ken Jeong (2 points), Robin Thicke (1 point) and two-time Golden Ear champ Jenny McCarthy (1 point). For the first time ever, only two contestants competed in “The Masked Singer” finale, down from three in all of the previous seasons. Bull (the winner of Group A) and Queen of Hearts (the winner of Group B) went head-to-head on the big stage for the very first time, but only one celeb came out victorious and took home the Golden Mask. So who ended up following in the footsteps of former winners T-Pain (Monster), Wayne Brady (Fox), Kandi Burruss (Night Angel), LeAnn Rimes (Sun) and Nick Lachey (Piglet)? And which panelist won the Golden Ear trophy?

Easily one of the most adapted fairy tales, there aren’t too many new avenues to go down when telling Cinderella’s story. Name a “fresh” angle and there’s likely already a film or a television series that has adapted that same “clever” idea for its own use. Even the marketing and promotion for the newest version of “Cinderella,” which all lean heavily into the film as being a contemporary take on the classic story, has been done before, and recently: look no further than “Ever After” or “A Cinderella Story.” So with the deck quite literally stacked against the film,

There have been countless series created by grown adults about teenagers over the years, but has there ever been one created by a teenager and her dad? Daniel and Zelda Barnz, the father-daughter showrunners of HBO Max’s “Generation”, represent what must be a first for dramatic programming but their frank, probing look at the lives of a group of LGBTQ+ teens and allies definitely gets plenty of help from other departments to create its sun-bathed Orange County backdrop.

“The first musical influence that I had when I was about six or seven was the Go-Go’s,” says Tiffany Anders, the music supervisor for Hulu’s comedy series “PEN15” starring Anna Konkle and Maya Erskine. “I put on shows in the backyard of songs that I loved like ‘We Got the Beat’ and I had a dance routine worked out. The top 11 couples will hit the floor on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” but the most anticipated routine of the night — or at least the most pimped — is arguably Derek Hough‘s.
The new judge and his girlfriend Hayley Erbert, a former troupe member, will perform a paso doble to “Uccen” by Taalbi Brothers. “I certainly don’t wanna disappoint. I’m gonna bring my all,” Hough teased of the performance three weeks ago. “My M.O. is entertaining and bringing joy to people, and that’s it. I’m so happy I’m able to do that on this show.”
The six-time champ left “Dancing” after finishing in sixth place with Marilu Henner on Season 23 in 2016.
Meanwhile, the top 11 will each tackle an unlearned dance. No new dances this week, but after their season debuts last week, jazz and contemporary are sticking around.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about tonight’s two-part series finale of Fresh Off the Boat.
After six seasons, we say goodbye to the Huang family of Fresh Off the Boat. The two-part series finale of the groundbreaking ABC sitcom didn’t necessarily end with a bang. There was no huge champagne toast, parting speeches, or huge overture of gushing love. Instead, it ended with humor, a modest farewell, and heartfelt peek into the future of the family. Above all, it said goodbye showing the country that this Asian American-fronted sitcom is, in fact, an American sitcom.
Part one of the two-parter, titled “Family Van,” had the Huangs on their way to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for the first time since living in Orlando. During a family road trip sing-along to “Hakuna Matata”, their van (aka Sheila) breaks down, thus beginning a walk down memory lane.

"We're all in this together." Vanessa Hudgens took to Instagram on Thursday to share a video of herself rocking out to Des'ree's "You Gotta Be" with her pal Laura New. "She mah best friend," the High School Musical alumna captioned the clip. The 31-year-old actress sported blue jeans, a graphic T-shirt and a fringed jacket in the video.
