- As producer, engineer, songwriter or guitarist, James Donnellan has worked on over 200 albums; including 14 gold albums, 5 gold singles, 2 platinum albums and 2 platinum singles. Donnellan was also staff engineer at the venerable United/Western Recording Studios in Hollywood during the 70s and 80s. In addition to playing on most of his productions, Donnellan's work on guitar and pedal steel can be heard on recordings by such notables as Johnny Cash, the Grateful Dead, Petula Clark, Art Garfunkel and Ringo Starr. Donnellan was also recording and touring lead guitarist for Albert Hammond ("It Never Rains in Southern California") and the guitarist for his own group, Morning, on Fantasy Records (1965-2000). In addition to scoring and producing the music for four feature motion pictures and three documentaries, Donnellan composed and produced music for 5 top-10 games by Novalogic Inc., including the popular "F-22 Military Grade Flight Simulator" (1975-2000).
