The Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on Friday agreed to extend their current negotiations for a new deal, thus avoiding a potential strike. At least for now.
The extension allows the two sides to continue negotiating until midnight Pt on Wednesday, July 12, giving them less than two weeks to reach a deal. The deadline was originally set for this Friday at midnight. Both sides did not offer further comment on the extension, as they’re under a mutually agreed-upon media blackout during negotiations.

The Attitude Era: It’s the most fabled and nostalgia-ridden time period in the history of the WWE. It’s the era that made wrestling cool to watch again, especially for teenagers and young twenty-somethings. It’s the era of Austin vs. McMahon, of Kane vs. Undertaker, of Dx vs. The Nation, and of WWE vs. WCW.
In those few short years, the landscape of professional landscape changed from a bunch of gimmicky pseudo-wrestlers running around in clown costumes to a no-holds-barred melee of lifelike anti-heroes and epic slobberknockers.
I know that it’s easy to view the Attitude Era through rose-colored glasses, misremembering the WWE as a whole by pointing to a few awesome key scenes that remain lodged in the public consciousness. Not everything during that time was as cool as Mike Tyson joining D-Generation X (and subsequently turning on them). I understand that. Hit-and-miss was...

Let’s make one thing clear right from the start: an injury of any kind isn’t really anything to be giggling about. Professional wrestlers tend to make careers out of working hurt, to protect their reputations and their spot in whatever promotion they’re working for (and basically to keep earning) – but working injured is another thing entirely.
And, over the years, some terrible and gruesome injuries have taken place inside the squared circle. Even discounting horrible accidents like Owen Hart’s tragic fall, there are still incidents like Darren Drozdov’s paralysis after a botched running powerbomb in 1999, or ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s broken neck after a botched piledriver in 1997. There’s the godawful big boot from the second turnbuckle that broke Sid Vicious’ leg and all but ended his career. There’s the uncontrolled bump out of the ring and across a coffin that...

For a show that featured the likes of Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan and A.J Styles, it may seem unlikely that after Impact Wrestling’s Against All Odds pay-per-view the name on everyone’s lips was Jesse Sorensen. Unfortunately unlike the aforementioned names, Sorensen’s fame comes not from a high profile match or feud, but from his suffering one of the worst on screen injuries in pro wrestling history.
The PPV which aired on February 12th in the Us featured Sorensen against Zema Ion in the opening match to determine the number one contender to the X-division championship. After only a few minutes Ion connected with a moonsault from the middle rope to Sorensen who was standing outside the ring. The incident which was replayed during a interview with Sorensen on this week’s Impact Wrestling broadcast was one of the most frightening aired on a wrestling program ever...
