- Call me old-fashioned, but I see actors as a blank canvas - that's what they should be. This whole business of celebrity worship and knowing everything about an actor is detrimental to the craft. I know when I go to the movies nowadays, I often know so much about the people on screen, through magazines and interviews and celebrity gossip, that I find it hard to overcome that and relate to the character they're playing. That's something that, as an actor, I'll always avoid.
