More change in the writers room at General Hospital.
Patrick Mulcahey — who was promoted in January to help fill the void left by co-head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor — is no longer on the soap’s head-writing team, Deadline has confirmed.
Elizabeth Korte, who was upped alongside Mulcahey, will become the sole head writer for now. Korte has been a part of the Gh family since 1992.
Mulcahey is a longtime vet of daytime dramas, having started in the biz on Search For Tomorrow. He wrote for Loving, Santa Barbara, Guiding Light and The Bold and the Beautiful. He first started penning episodes for Gh in 1996.
Episodes that he crafted with Korte will air through mid-summer. A spokeswoman for the show declined comment.
In December, Gh took the prize for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. It also racked up four Emmys in the acting categories and another in the Outstanding Directing Team category.

It has not been an easy time in Port Charles with the passing of Jackie Zeman, Sonya Eddy, Robyn Bernard, and Tyler Christopher. Late General Hospital star Sonya Eddy, who died on December 19, 2022, was honored with a posthumous award at the Daytime Emmys last month, but her family still hasn’t received the trophy. According to TMZ, this is because Sonya’s friend and producing partner, Tyler Ford, still has the award after accepting it on her behalf during the ceremony, which took place on December 15, 2023. Sonya’s brother, Robbie Eddy, told TMZ that the family wasn’t told ahead of time that his sister would be receiving a posthumous award. He said the family is now trying to get in touch with the Television Academy to get a hold of the award, which he claimed Ford is refusing to hand over. Robbie went on to say that the family doesn’t plan to take legal action against Ford or the Television Academy because “they don’t want to tarnish Sonya’s memory with a lawsuit.

Based on Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp’s Off-Broadway show Fucking Identical Twins, Dicks: The Musical plays to the cheap seats from the get-go. This perverse riff on The Parent Trap—in which identical twins separated at birth, Craig (Sharp) and Trevor (Jackson), meet and try to reunite their gay father, Harris (Nathan Lane), with their agoraphobic, wheelchair-bound mother, Evelyn (Megan Mullally)—delights in breaking the rules of good taste. Yet its ceaseless reveling in the raunchy and depraved, including a queer, coke-snorting God (Bowen Yang) and a detached flying vagina, is all that Dicks has going for it.
Larry Charles’s film opens with something of a mission statement: sarcastic on-screen text declaring that Sharp and Jackson are gay and that their decision to play misogynistic straight dudes is incredibly brave. It’s a clear shot at the overt self-satisfaction of certain actors’ tendencies to inflate their own sense...

Horror anthology Satanic Hispanics assembles five Latin American horror filmmakers to celebrate Hispanic talent in front of and behind the camera, curating tales that spotlight Hispanic myths and legends. Uniting four tales of terror is Satanic Hispanics‘ wraparound from producer/director Mike Mendez.
In Mendez’s wraparound, a police raid uncovers a grisly crime scene full of dead bodies. They take the sole survivor, a man that refers to himself as “The Traveler” (Efren Ramirez), into custody for answers. Sonya Eddy was a staple of television, from her long-running stint on "General Hospital" to her unforgettable guest appearances on shows like "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Young Sheldon." But possibly Eddy's most iconic recurring role was Rebecca De Mornay on "Seinfeld." Eddy managed to make a huge impression in only two episodes, but the show made an even bigger impression on her. In fact, she said that Jerry Seinfeld ran his series so effectively that no other show compared.
Rebecca De Mornay was a no-nonsense volunteer worker at charities like the homeless shelter and housing works thrift shop. She first appeared in the season 8 episode "The Muffin Tops" and was asked to return in season 9 for "The Bookstore." Eddy's first-ever appearance on the show was meant to be short and straightforward, but it was eventually rewritten to include more lines.

She first appeared in the season 8 episode "The Muffin Tops" and was asked to return in season 9 for "The Bookstore." In a 1979 episode, Anthony Geary’s Luke raped Laura, though the scene was later interpreted as a seduction. The couple’s eventual wedding would become one of the biggest events in television in 1981.

If there’s one defining moment in American soap operas, it’s Luke and Laura’s wedding on “General Hospital.” The nuptials of the super-couple (played by Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) was a major television event when it aired in November 1981, bringing in 30 million viewers to the ABC series and making the duo one of the most iconic couples in soap history.
But as famous and beloved as the couple is, their relationship started on an extremely ugly note. In an October 1979 episode, Luke raped her, and although the show initially played it as such, the event was later looked back on as a “seduction” due to the popularity of the pairing. Although the characters remained together for years, with their love story a major part of the series until Geary left the cast in 2015, the assault cast a large shadow over the rest of their storylines. And Francis,...

When Sonya Eddy first auditioned for a small role as a day player in "Seinfeld," she never imagined that she would deliver some of the most quotable lines in the series. The actress was so hilarious that she was even brought back for another episode. A fun fact about Eddy's character is that she was named after another actress — Rebecca De Mornay of "Risky Business" — in a ploy to get De Mornay on the show.
The minor character was not originally named after De Mornay, Eddy recalled on This Podcast is Making Me Thirsty. "I don't think her last name was De Mornay at the time, the actress explained. "I think they came up with that a little bit later in the rehearsal process." Eddy remembered Jerry Seinfeld asking for her take on the name change. "I remember Jerry saying to me, 'What do you think about us calling you Rebecca De Mornay?...

Death is one of the saddest inevitable things that each one of us would experience. Every minute, every second, someone leaves this world behind without even knowing their departure time. In the end, the bereaved would only be left to mourn the loss of their loved one. Death is a poetically wonderful paradox, as it feels sadder and sadder the more the person who was once alive was celebrated. Unfortunately for us, Sonya Eddy, from General Hospital, will join the list of great people who left us this year. She died on December 19, 2022, at the age of 55.

Irene Cara, Bob McGrath, Aaron Carter, Queen Elizabeth II, Shinzo Abe, and just recently, Sonya Eddy were among those famous people who departed from the world this year. But they left a lasting impression on the world and the people around them that they were mourned by many. Like the six mentioned above, it showed that the louder the cheer for someone’s life, the heavier the tears would fall for their funerals. Though, sometimes, one does not need to be very popular to be appreciated after one’s life. It suffices to be kind and raise other people in kindness. In

Satanic Hispanics celebrates Hispanic heritage with a horror anthology that assembles five horror filmmakers from various corners of Latin America. Each applies their cultural background and style, producing an eclectic mix of tales that take wide swings from bone-chilling to delightfully funny. That variation provides a strange yet captivating journey.
A police raid uncovers a grisly crime scene full of dead bodies. They take the sole survivor, a man that refers to himself as “The Traveler” (Efren Ramirez), into custody for answers. Future horror anthology producers and filmmakers can learn from the smooth-as-silk collection "Satanic Hispanics." Most importantly? Don't undervalue your wraparound that binds segments together like storytelling glue. Anthologies are, by definition, multiple shorts assembled to feature length via chapters, but what separates a "Deathcember" that's too oddly randomized from something like "Satanic Hispanics" is wraparound consistency. Everyone involved harmoniously feeds off the prompt's cultural emphasis instead of ping-ponging viewers around some production company's amalgamation of dusty shorts with the intent to cash in on anthology redistribution. "Satanic Hispanics" isn't just another assortment of kill sequences with an overall thematic impact — it's a model to follow and a path toward horror anthology success.
What proceeds is an ode to horrific Hispanic heritage from indie horror directors who allow their traditions, nightmares, and ancestors to haunt universal audiences. You've seen their works from "Juan of the Dead" to "Culture Shock," "Big Ass...

As No. 5, “V/H/S/99” unfortunately maintains that pattern, providing an uninspired extension of the series that had rebounded after a seven-year lull with last fall’s “V/H/S/94.”
That installment was typically uneven, but the better segments were terrific. Here, nothing stands out: The best episodes are merely good enough, and the worst just tiresome. Nonetheless, this brand has proven viewer appeal for genre streaming platform Shudder, where it should do well when launched in various territories on Oct. 20. Set in 1999 — the tail of the titular format’s commercial reign, since DVDs were introduced two years prior — the film is unlikely to be the series’ last.

I Live Alone: "Due for release December 21st 2021 to VOD through Gravitas Ventures, Krsy Fox’s new film ‘I Live Alone’ promises tension, violence, and a huge twist you won’t see coming.
Bonnie Aarons is brilliant as the paranoid and reclusive Aunt Len. A woman who has chosen to live in solitude for over 40 years due to her insane delusions. When her estranged sixteen year old niece Parker (played by Nyaling Marenah) has to come live with her because her Mother falls ill, Aunt Len is pushed outside of her comfort zone. Parker realizes fairly quickly that something may be very off with her Aunt as she rants about the dangers of people in the outside world, their neighbors start to go missing, and screams ascend from the basement. It doesn’t take long before Parker confesses to her boyfriend Josh (Radek Lord) that she believes Aunt Len is a serial killer.
