Emma Corrin is opening up about their upcoming role as the villain in Deadpool 3.
In an interview with Empire Magazine conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Corrin shared they were “really excited to play a villain” — however, which villain still remains a secret.
“I haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch,” Corrin, who goes by they/them pronouns, said. Director Shawn Levy approached the actor after seeing them onstage in a production of Virginia Woolf’s Orlando. “I’d heard about the project but, classic Marvel, they couldn’t tell me anything about it,” they continued. “Absolutely nothing. Zilch. So, I met him being like, ‘I don’t know what this is about.'”
The actor, who broke out on The Crown, explained that stepping into the Marvel universe was new for them in more ways than one since they weren’t very familiar with the heroes.

‘Deadpool 3’ is one of the most anticipated Marvel projects at this moment due to a number of reasons. We know that this movie will officially bring Ryan Reynold’s Merc with a Mouth to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We also know that it’s going to be the first R-rated MCU movie and that Hugh Jackman will make his comeback as the Wolverine. Not that those big comebacks are something new now, but Jackman’s return certainly released the hype for the movie the moment his return was announced.
The entire plot of ‘Deadpool 3’ is kept under wraps, although there are rumors that the movie will depict another Multiverse story that will integrate Fox’s X-Men franchise, in which Reynolds and Jackman debuted in their respective Marvel roles, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which now has the rights to use X-Men and other mutant characters from the comics...

The mid-2000s were an excellent time for serialized action shows. There were 24, Lost, Chuck, Prison Break and loads more. But, perhaps the best of all of them – for a while anyway – was J.J. Abrams’ Alias, which starred Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, a black ops agent for what she thinks is a unit of the CIA, Sd-6. Of course, the truth turns out to be much deadlier, as Sydney finds out in the influential pilot episode, which aired September 30th, 2001.
The series immediately became a big hit, with Jennifer Garner rivalling Angelina Jolie for a while as one of the top female action stars of the era. It paved the way for her to be cast as Elektra in the early Marvel movie Daredevil (a role she reprises in Deadpool 3), and the show also offered an early part to a young Bradley Cooper, who played her friend Will Tippin.

For the first time since 1960, both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) are collectively on strike. WGA began its strike in May, and SAG recently joined in this labor dispute between the two guilds and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) after they failed to reach an agreement and previous respective contracts expired a day before each strike began.
While the productions with finished scripts were allowed to continue when WGA started the strike, the whole of Hollywood is now basically frozen since actors that are members of SAG aren’t allowed to film any movie and TV productions and also aren’t allowed to promote or give interviews for any of the coming movies while the strike is ongoing. The situation is trickier than ever, and it’s impossible to say how long it’s going to last.

You might want to put your chimichangas in the freezer because it will be a while before we’re eating them in celebration of the arrival of Deadpool 3. Unfortunately, the Marvel threequel is the latest tentpole project to fall victim to the SAG-AFTRA strike. News about the project’s hibernation comes after Ryan Reynolds shared a photo of himself and Hugh Jackman in full costume for the upcoming superhero buddy-action comedy. Fans can expect delays for the project until negotiations between the WGA, SAG-AFTRA, and AMPTP resolve.
The upcoming Deadpool sequel will see the return of Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Rob Delaney as Peter. Deadpool 3 will also star Emma Corrin, who is expected to play the villain, and Matthew Macfadyen in an undisclosed role.

Los Angeles, July 11 (Ians) Hugh Jackman, writes ‘Variety’, promised fans that his return as Wolverine in the upcoming ‘Deadpool 3’ would not screw with ‘Logan’, the 2017 ‘X-Men’ tentpole that brought an end to the superhero’s movie arc by killing him off.It appears Jackman was telling the truth, as a first look at ‘Deadpool 3′ shared on Jackman and co-star Ryan Reynolds’ Instagram finds Wolverine sporting his classic yellow-and-blue costume from the comic books,’Variety’ adds.

More than two decades after first playing Wolverine, Hugh Jackman has finally put on the yellow spandex. Jackman and co-star Ryan Reynolds shared a first look at the duo from Deadpool 3 Monday, with the photo including Jackman wearing the classic costume from the comics for the first time.
The yellow costume (which was immortalized in the ‘90s animated series) has long been joked about in the X-Men features. In the original 2000 film, Wolverine complains about the black leather suits the team wears, to which Cyclops (James Marsden) quips, “What would you prefer, yellow spandex?” In 2013’s The Wolverine, a deleted scene showed off Logan getting the yellow suit in a briefcase, though he doesn’t put it on.
Reynolds and Jackman shared the Deadpool 3 image via Instagram stories, and the official Deadpool account shared a high-res version (below).

Marvel fans got their first look at Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine return via Deadpool 3 on Monday, as Ryan Reynolds took to his Instagram stories with a new still from the film. In it, Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth is seen walking with a super-suited Wolverine in black and yellow.
Jackman joins the Deadpool franchise after portraying the adamantium-clawed mutant in nine films from 2000 to 2017, spanning from X-Men to Logan. The first look emerges on the heels of news that Jennifer Garner will likewise make a Marvel return as Elektra, after playing the character in 2003’s Daredevil.
Shawn Levy is directing and producing the Marvel threequel, whose plot details remain under wraps. Script was written by Reynolds, Levy, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Zeb Wells. Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen join the franchise as newcomers, as Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic, Rob Delaney, Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna return.

It’s taken 10 films, but we finally get to see Wolverine in a comics-accurate costume. Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to share the first official photo from the set of Deadpool 3, showing off not just co-star Hugh Jackman’s return to his career-making role as Logan, but his wearing of the character’s iconic yellow-and-blue uniform.
Jackman has portrayed Wolverine in nine films, between the original X-Men trilogy, his solo trilogy, and a trio of diminishing-returns First Class entries. Through all that time, the closest we got to a comic-accurate depiction of Wolverine’s attire was the naked Weapon X scene from the forgettable X-Men: Apocalypse. A scene cut from 2013’s The Wolverine saw the character receiving the yellow-and-brown costume from the ’80s, but even that was just a tease.

Los Angeles, July 8 (Ians) After a break of 20 years, actress Jennifer Garner is making her return to the world of Marvel, as she will reprise her role as the Marvel anti-hero Elektra in ‘Deadpool 3’.
The actress first made her appearance as Elektra Natchios in the 2003 Ben Affleck starrer ‘Daredevil’ following which she starred in a spin-off solo movie ‘Elektra’ in 2005.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, her involvement in ‘Deadpool 3’ hints at some sort of multiverse angle to the film that has long been rumored, and it is possible that other characters from Marvel films made by Fox could pop up. But this being ‘Deadpool’, one can’t rule out some meta, self-awareness either.
‘Deadpool 3’ will also mark Garner’s reunion with the ‘Deadpool’ star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, who all previously worked together on the sci-fi film ‘The Adam Project’.

Hugh Jackman won’t be the only one bringing his Marvel character out of retirement for “Deadpool 3.” Jennifer Garner is also returning to star as Elektra in the Ryan Reynolds starrer, according to reports.

Teeing up an inevitable “sai-ke” pun for Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner is set to reprise her role as the sai-wielding superhero Elektra in Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool 3.”

Jennifer Garner is coming back in the sai-swinging role of antihero assassin Elektra in 20th Century Studios/Marvel/Disney’s Deadpool 3.
She first played the role in 2003’s Daredevil which starred her former husband Ben Affleck, that 20th/Marvel movie grossing $102M stateside, $179M WW.
Garner would play Elektra in her own spinoff movie, but it tanked with $24M domestic, $57M WW.
Deadpool 3 reteams Garner with Deadpool 3 star Ryan Reynolds and its director Shawn Levy, both whom she worked with on the latter’s Netflix movie, The Adam Project.

The movie will kick off next summer on May 3, 2024.

Hugh Jackman was previously revealed to be bringing Wolverine out of retirement for Deadpool 3, which is currently shooting with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the titular Merc with a Mouth.
Besides Jackman, this appears to be the first semi-official confirmation of a non-mcu Marvel actor returning for the multiversal madness that Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be. It would also seem to add credence to rumblings that Affleck would be back in the horns for a cameo. Jackman’s X-pals Famke Janssen (Jean Grey), Halle Berry (Storm), and James Marsden (Cyclops) have been rumored to appear (justice for Kelsey Grammer’s Beast!), while fans have been buzzing...

We are living in a time when superhero movies are the absolute mainstream of modern Hollywood, and considering how gigantic cinematic events such as ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ have raised the bar, the studios needed some new ideas on how to keep this genre fresh and going. We wouldn’t be wrong to say that this current era of superhero movies is built on crossover movies featuring returning actors who retired from playing their respective characters long ago.
In 2021, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ assembled three live-action Spider-Men on the big screen. 2022’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ brought back Patrick Stewart as a variant of Professor X. Both of these movies were highly successful at the box office, and it was thought the superhero genre had found a new formula for success, a formula that’s built on fan-service and nostalgia.

Here’s some shocking news for our Friday afternoon: THR has reported that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role of Elektra for Deadpool 3. Yep, let that soak in.
Jennifer Garner first played Elektra alongside Ben Affleck in Daredevil. The character proved popular enough to receive her very own spin-off, which was unfortunately trashed by critics and grossed just $57 million worldwide. That might have been the last we saw of Jennifer Garner as Elektra… but Deadpool obviously has other plans. THR’s Borys Kit described Jennifer Garner’s role in Deadpool 3 as a “cameo-like appearance” on Twitter.
It remains to be seen precisely how Elektra will factor into Deadpool 3, but her involvement could hint at a multiverse story. I imagine that fans may now be wondering whether Ben Affleck could be persuaded to suit up as Daredevil; As this is Deadpool we’re talking about, I suppose anything could happen.

Jennifer Garner is picking up Elektra’s sai once again.
After a nearly 20-year hiatus, the actress is returning to the role of Marvel Comics’ assassin antiheroine for Deadpool 3, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
The Marvel Studios production is currently shooting, with Ryan Reynolds reprising his fan-favorite part of the fourth wall-breaking Merc with a Mouth. Hugh Jackman has come out of Marvel retirement to play Wolverine once again.
Shawn Levy is in the director’s chair with the project to be the first movie that will feature a character, or in this case, two or three or more, from the stable that once belonged to 20th Century Fox. Fox owned several silos of Marvel’s characters before its acquisition by Disney in 2019 brought the movie rights to the characters back into Marvel proper.

Fitting into her superhero look was a challenge for Jennifer Garner.
In a new video for Glamour, the actress took a trip down memory lane, looking back on her best looks on-screen, including the very cleavage-heavy wardrobe in the “Daredevil” movies.
“Everything was pushed up and out,” she said.

“I was just this close to a wardrobe malfunction at all times,” she said of the costumes. “There’s not enough tape in the world to make this stuff safe.”
She continued, “I had to be cut out of and sewn into the pleather pants every time I had to pee, and that was like a 45-minute undertaking so I definitely held it.

Even in the golden age of highbrow auteur horror, truly cutting feminist horror is still waiting for its “Get Out” moment. That’s not for lack of trying: Rape revenge thrillers were trendy before the tepid pop feminism of “Promising Young Woman” made them a staple of the sub-genre.
While feminist horror provocateur Jennifer Reeder (“Knives and Skin”) has tastes far more sinister and far less mainstream, her latest zany invention is an ambitious but uneven jumble of ideas. One part surreal coming of age horror, one part to-catch-a-predator thriller, “Perpetrator” suffers from a novice lead performance and a script that tries to do too much. It’s an ambitious addition to the feminist horror genre with blood and guts to spare, but it’s no game-changer.
