She’s one of the most fashionable young actresses in Hollywood, so it’s no wonder Kiernan Shipka was in the house for the Elizabeth & James Fall 2013 Handbag Collection last night (June 19).
The “Mad Men” actress looked gorgeous as she strolled around the InStyle-hosted cocktail soiree at the Chateau Marmont, perusing the latest purses from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s label.
As for her character Sally Draper, Kiernan told press she had a blast smoking on camera in a recent episode of her AMC hit show.
“I had fun filming that scene, too. In the first car ride, I had lots of French fries, which was great. That was the highlight of the day, to be honest. I was pretty nervous to smoke. I’ve obviously never smoked before in my entire life, so it was sort of a thing that I had no clue how to do. [Laughs.] But I caught on.

Olivia and Fitz’s relationship wasn’t the only casualty of Scandal‘s far-reaching Defiance imbroglio.
In Thursday’s episode (10/9c, ABC), viewers will learn that James ended up kicking his morally flexible husband Cyrus out of the house for the role he played in the incident and subsequent cover-up (watch a sneak peek here).

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen traveled to Texas on Wednesday and met up with Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing at the retailer's North Park Dallas store. They were greeted by an intimate group of fans for a preview of Mary-Kate and Ashley's Textile by Elizabeth and James Fall collection. The designing sisters came dressed in some of their favorite, signature pieces, though Ashley wasn't spotted with her new $39,000 backpack that she and Mary-Kate designed for The Row. The pair is gearing up for NYC's Fall Fashion Week, but earlier this month they took a very special trip to Honduras on behalf of Toms footwear. In partnership with Toms Mary-Kate and Ashley traveled to South America giving away shoes to children and need. Blink and you’d have missed it: the Barbican’s New Zealand Film Festival 2011 took place over just 3 days in London last weekend. Although it is a nice idea for every country, however small, to have its own festival, it might have been a better to hold one combined festival for Australia and New Zealand, allowing audiences a slightly longer time frame to catch several films, rather than having to fit everything in during the space of one weekend. What’s most important, though, is that the event took place, as it gave audiences a chance to see the first feature film ever made by a New Zealander of Chinese background: My Wedding and Other Secrets (2011).
In this romantic drama-comedy, awkward twenty-somethings Emily and James fall in love. The problem: James is white, and Emily’s parents, immigrants to New Zealand from Hong Kong, have forbidden their daughters from dating anyone outside the Chinese community.
