Earlier this month, we reported that production on season nine of the Home & Family morning program would resume on March 29th. Now, it's been revealed that the Hallmark Channel lifestyle series will end this year and won't have a 10th season.
The series began in 1996 as The Home and Family Show on The Family Channel and was hosted by Cristina Ferrare, Michael Burger, and Chuck Woolery. The latter left in 1996 and the series ran until 1998.
The show was rebooted in 2012 on Hallmark Channel. Mark Steines and Paige Davis co-hosted the new version but Davis left after six weeks and was replaced by Ferrare, a host of the original iteration. In 2016, Ferrare was dropped and replaced by Debbie...

Nearly 15 years after his death, John DeLorean’s life story still feels tailor-made for the movies. He rose and fell, and then did it again. He married and remarried, and then did it again. He made huge mistakes, miraculously escaped punishment, and then — well, you get the idea.
So perhaps the problem is that there’s too much material here? “Driven” is the second film this summer to address DeLorean’s life, and the second one to feel overwhelmed by its subject. In the more ambitious “Framing John DeLorean,” documentarians Sheena Joyce and Don Argott addressed their subject head-on, mixing various styles and genres in an attempt to understand him.
Here, director Nick Hamm (“The Journey”) and writer Colin Bateman skirt the edges of his experience, as if they’re too intimidated to approach it directly. So we get a relatively amusing dramedy, but one in which DeLorean remains a...

In 1965 at age 40, Cheverlot boss John DeLorean became the youngest division head in General Motors history. He was an automotive engineer who created cars like the Pontiac Gto, but DeLorean had the looks and lifestyle of a movie star.
“John was a legendary automotive designer who had great success at Gm,” Alec Baldwin, who plays DeLorean in the new film Framing John DeLorean, tells People in this week’s issue. “John made his name in the business, and that business was like a movie. You release something and if it’s a hit, you’re the king for the time being.

A curious experiment that may be best suited to the freedom of a festival setting, “Framing John DeLorean” aims to finally crack the mystery of its titular subject. As we learn early on, the erstwhile car magnate has inspired several filmmakers over many years, but few of them have, until now, gotten their projects off the ground.
Directors Sheena M. Joyce and Don Argott are not just up-front about the difficulty DeLorean’s personality poses; they turn his opacity into prime motivation. This ambitious approach is, unfortunately, more intriguing than effective. That may be because, as the filmmakers freely admit, DeLorean appears impossible to know. They do make an unusually concerted effort though, approaching him from no less than three separate angles.
At first it appears that we’re watching a traditional documentary, in which various colleagues and relatives share their observations alongside well-sourced footage. We learn about the workaholic...

Exclusive: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group has purchased North American and some foreign rights to Nick Hamm’s John DeLorean movie Driven which made its world premiere at last year’s Venice Film Festival and continued on to Tiff. Pic will hit theaters on Aug. 16.
Inspired by true events, Driven is a wickedly comedic look at a bromance gone bad. Set in the opulence of early 1980s California, the story follows the meteoric rise of John DeLorean (Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Lee Pace) and his iconic DeLorean Motor Company, through his friendship with charming ex-con turned FBI informant, Jim Hoffman (SNL alum Jason Sudeikis). It was Hoffman who lured the car designer-engineer into a government cocaine trafficking ring, which DeLorean was tempted by given the fact that he needed $17M to save his floundering company. We learn early in Framing John DeLorean that many films about the famed car maker have died on the vine in pre-production, yet Don Argot and Sheena Joyce try–with the help of Alec Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, Josh Charles, and make-up experts–to capture a guy that embodied the go-go 80s. The film is mildly successful at capturing the cult of personality from multiple sources including his son and daughter, his employees both in the U.S. and Ireland, TV appearances, and the surveillance video of an FBI sting that catapulted the playboy family man into infamy. The story is framed with reflective recreations with Baldwin and Baccarin playing, respectively, DeLorean and his model wife (25 years his junior) Cristina Ferrare.

A visionary who flew too close to the sun. A dream of success that became a nightmare. A golden boy turned prince of darkness. Name your grandiose American metaphor, and the saga of John DeLorean, the Gm-executive-turned-lone-wolf-entrepreneur who invented the car of the future (only to see it relegated to the junkyard of the past), probably lives up to it. Yet as you watch “Framing John DeLorean,” a tasty and satisfying look at the rise and fall of the self-styled auto magnate of the ’70s and ’80s, you realize how easily a story like DeLorean’s can get consumed by the myths that emerge from it.
In “Framing John DeLorean,” the co-directors, Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce, do a superb job of laying out the real story, in all its ambition and hubris and madness and tragedy, and separating the myths from the facts. And they succeed, in part,...

Alec Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, Josh Charles star in the brand new trailer for Framing John Delorean.
It was announced earlier this week that the film would have it premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival taking place April 24 – May 5. From Sundance Selects, Framing John Delorean opens in theaters and VOD June 7th.
Few left their mark on the automotive industry quite like John Z. DeLorean (1925-2005). As an engineer and executive at General Motors, beginning in the 1950s, he was at the helm of the industry’s successes of the era, including classic Pontiac and Chevrolet car models. Ascending to become the youngest division head in the Gm history, DeLorean broke away in 1973 to launch his own company. His signature stainless-steel DeLorean sports car was a notorious flop, though the model would later achieve pop culture infamy as the time-machine in Back to the Future.

Nearly everyone knows about the DeLorean with its gull-wing doors and stainless steel finish, as the iconic time machine in the Back to the Future franchise. What some may not be so familiar with is John DeLorean, the founder of the company whose life plays like something out of a Hollywood movie.
A documentary which features what appears to be fairly substantial re-enactments which play more like a movie (including featuring recognizable stars) than a typical re-enactment, Framing John DeLorean is the first go at telling the story of John DeLorean which, according to his own son, is filled with drugs, models, politicians and explosions.
The doc stars Alec Baldwin as DeLorean, Morena Baccarin as his wife, model Cristina Ferrare, and Josh Charles.

hollywoodnews.com: After nearly a month on the air, the Oprah Winfrey Network (Own) has failed to maintain the energy of early buzz and to build critical momentum. Ratings for most shows are on decline, even following normalization from the initial push. The response is surprising, given the media mogul’s capacity to supply rich content and finance a successful marketing campaign, not to mention the built-in following afforded by Own’s partnership with Discovery Networks.
A questionable programming mix may explain poor results. When paired with Oprah originals such as “Oprah Behind the Scenes” and “Oprah’s All-Stars”, Discovery Network shows such as “Mystery Diagnosis” and “Trading Spaces” seem unlikely bedfellows. Add in several completely unrecognizable titles such as “Cristina Ferrare’s Big Bowl of Love” and “Anna & Kristina’s Grocery Bag” and the network’s focus seems a bit schizophrenic.
Another peculiarity of the network:...
