Conscience, the latest film from writer/director/actor Claire "Fluff" Llewellyn, comes close to being an engaging horror short.
The film contains several morally corrupt characters, from serial killers to a crooked journalist, and the film's title promises to delve into what makes one more acceptable than the other. It's unfortunate that the script fails to deliver on that promise, getting mired down in too many characters for the short running time, lengthy setup, and no real payoff.
The film opens "10 years ago" at a New England asylum. A writer, hired by a reporter for a paper, is getting the scoop on one of the doctor's illegal and unethical experiments. The story is published to great acclaim, with the reporter taking all the credit. But once the doctor escapes, the reporter fears...

Writer/director John Lechago gave Fango the first look at the latest trailer for his indie creature feature Bioslime, as well as a couple of new exclusive photos; you can feast your eyes on them below the cut. The movie, on which Lechago also served as cinematographer, editor, visual FX supervisor and set designer, is currently in postproduction.
“I am finishing up the visual effects, but there is still a great deal of work to be done,” Lechago tells us. “I’m getting some help from a colleague of mine who’s an excellent effects artist, and I still have a little more insert shooting for background plates. Other than that, the music score is done and the sound editing is well underway. The polish is a meticulous and labor-intesive process, especially for a low-budget production. I want this thing to look as good as it possibly can!”
