- Studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover (Hanover School of Music and Theater) from 1982 to 1986.
- First woman to play the character of "Death" in the "Jedermann" play at the Salzburg Theater Festival (2005).
- Supports several organizations such as "Aktionsbündnis Landminen" (fighting against land mines) and the "DS-Infocenter" (supporting people with down syndrome).
- Won a bronze medal at the 2004 Eurogames, a LGBT sporting event, in the 50m butterfly race in Munich.
- Being openly lesbian, she is an active Lesbian and Gay Rights Movement activist.
- Right after she finished at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover she got her first acting job as a member of the Staatstheater Oldenburg in 1987 - the same years she landed her first role on television.
- Was awarded the "Verdienstorden am Bande" of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2007.
- Member of #ActOut in Spring 2021 and one of 185 Actors who identify as lesbian, gay, bi, trans*, queer, inter and non-binary, among many other things.
