The producer behind The Blair Witch Project has filed for bankruptcy after racking up debts of more than $130,000 (£81,250).
Kevin J. Foxe has just $900 (£562) worth of assets to his name, according to a legal filing lodged in a California bankruptcy court earlier this month and obtained by TMZ.com.
Foxe, who was also associate producer on sequel Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, claims he owes creditors a total of $132,724 (£82,952), including a $60,214 (£37,630) tax debt owed to the Internal Revenue Service.
The 1999 horror hit The Blair Witch Project was hugely profitable at the box office after pulling in $248 million (£155 million) worldwide, while principal photography cost just $25,000 (£15,625).

Variety.com is reporting that social networking/micro-blogging service Twitter has partnered with Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment to develop a new TV projects. Described as “putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format”, the concept was created by novelist/screenwriter Amy Ephron, who is also attached as executive producer alongside Kevin Foxe and Steve Latham, Mark Koops from Reveille Entertainment, Howard T. Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment Partners on Monday announced they have partnered with the social-networking and micro-blogging service to develop the first TV series that incorporates Twitter into the action of the show.
Created by novelist Amy Ephron, sister of Nora and Delia Ephron, the show will feature ordinary people competing while on the trail of celebrities.
The untitled series will be executive produced by Reveille managing directors Mark Koops and Howard T. Owens, Brillstein CEO Jon Liebman and Lee Kernis, Ephron, Kevin J. Foxe and Steven Latham.
ShineReveille International will distribute both the format and the finished series internationally.
"Twitter is transforming the way people communicate -- especially celebrities and their fans," Owens said.
Reveille already has a relationship with Twitter through their collaboration on MTV's "The Alexa Chung Show."

Variety reports that the San Francisco-based Twitter has partnered with Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment to develop an unscripted TV series described as "putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format." The project was announced with few details Monday by Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment.
