Backed by an eight-figure investment out of New York, the company will focus on developing and producing what London-based Murray and NYC-based Torresblanco described to us as “U.S. and regional content with global appeal.”
The partners told us they will work on high-end, specialist, and mainstream content across film, television, and documentaries in both English and Spanish. In addition to the US and Spain, Torresblanco and Murray told us they will prioritize producing content in other key markets, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and Latam. The company is currently in the process of securing cash for an additional development fund.
“We are so very thankful to our backers for believing in our vision for Hangtime,” Murray told us.

Everything can seem incredibly unsafe, unmanageable and confusing living in times of war and political and economic instability while nature continues to suffer. But amongst the youth, conversations have become deeper, more meaningful and honest. As a riot of thoughtfulness in the midst of chaos, new music sparked between sisters, Sirid and Frida Møl Kristensen – 11 new Prisma-songs with a narrative of identity, about courage and wonder but most of all about restoring belief in a brighter future.
“The different states we wanted to portray resonate with the album’s genesis. Through alternating soundscapes and tempos every song became a small intimate short story – adventurous or personal letters to an unknown recipient. They are musical fragments, gut feelings, snapshots, intuitions and at the same time the album has a shared mantra; how every movement and energy is connected to the bigger picture and affects the world we live in. It’s quite complex yet very simple,...

Director Carla Gutierrez spoke about her new documentary Frida in her new uInterview.
The documentary that follows the iconic painter Frida Kahlo explores the artist’s life through her own words, using diaries, letters, essays, and interviews.
When asked what she learned about Kahlo from the production, Gutierrez told uInterview founder Erik Meers, “I feel like I really knew all the details of her; there was not much that really surprised me when we were doing the research – in terms of facts. But what really surprised me was this opportunity to really hear about her emotions in a very deep, personal way. So to really hear the texture of her person, the texture of her personality, the texture of her essence and her spirit—that was surprising, being able to see her in a very fragile way sometimes, or a very messy way, a very insecure way.”
Gutierrez added, “It...

Had your fill of punishing investigations into toxic masculinity? Then the thoughtful questioning, sensitivity, low-key humor and refreshing candor of Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud’s Sex might be your antidote. Turning the male character study on its head with a gentle subversiveness that recalls what The Worst Person in the World did with romantic comedy, this superbly acted drama’s refusal to serve up tidy epiphanies might leave you wanting more. But the inchoate nature of the central characters’ self-reflection is partly the point in a smart movie with a lot on its mind.
The first entry in a trilogy by the writer-director called Sex Dreams Love, it centers on two friends — both of them married and ostensibly heterosexual — who work for the same chimney-sweeping company. That profession might more readily conjure associations with Mary Poppins, but these guys are no jaunty jacks-of-all-trades. They are methodical professionals providing a specialized service in contemporary Oslo,...

It can be said without a shred of doubt that the 1990s and early 2000s were truly the golden age of Western cartoons. It was a period when not only innovative storytelling became the forte of multitudes of classic animated ventures, but every single aspect, from animation styles to voice acting to sound design, also became pioneering in its own accord. With time, Western cartoons gradually lost their charm and were eventually substituted with the anime fervor of Gen Z.
However, thanks to streaming platforms’ commitment in rejuvenating Western cartoons in recent years, a steady increase in the quality of animated adaptations is noticeable. Netflix, for instance has assembled an animated gallery that can even rival Crunchyroll’s rich anime repertoire and has offered a number of titles that can make classic cartoon fans hopeful for the genre’s future. Hilda, adapted from Luke Pearson’s children’s comic series of the same name,...

The much-loved Netflix animated series Hilda has returned with its third and final season, and along with much colorful fare and new adventures, it has concluded the story arc of the titular character in a befitting manner. The episode count is relatively shorter this time, rounding off with eight episodes only, with the series finale being over an hour long. The overarching central plot of the season concerns Hilda and Johanna’s family legacy, which is addressed primarily through the series finale and a couple of episodes in the beginning, while the rest of the season follows the usual adventure-of-the-week format. There is an undeniable feeling of this season coming to a hurried conclusion, as fans would have surely wanted to see more of the established rich lore getting explored, but it is understandable that without progression of source material, the makers aren’t willing to experiment with the established narrative too much.
