Eid is also currently the showrunner of “Law & Order” at NBC and will remain in that role. Both shows hail from executive producer Dick Wolf, Wolf Entertainment, and Universal Television. Eid has also worked on Wolf Entertainment shows “Conviction,” “Chicago Pd,” “Law & Order: Trial By Jury,” “Law & Order: Svu,” “FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International”
Eid is repped by WME.
News of Eid’s exit from “FBI” comes after it was announced the show has been renewed for three more seasons. Its sister shows, “FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International,” have also been renewed for new seasons. NBC previously renewed fellow Wolf Entertainment shows “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Svu.

NBC’s Chicago Med will have new leadership heading into its 10th season.
Co-showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, who have been with the drama since it debuted in 2015, are stepping down at the end of the show’s current run. The married couple have helmed Med for nine seasons and more than 170 episodes to date. A new showrunner will be named later.
That’s an unusually long tenure for any series, let alone one hailing from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment, which frequently shakes up operations both in front of and behind the camera. Frolov and Schneider came in ahead of Chicago Med’s series premiere, taking over for Andrew Dettman. In contrast, Med’s fellow Chicago series, Fire and Pd, have changed showrunners multiple times over the course of their runs.

Dick Wolf is in for another busy season at NBC. No surprise here, the Peacock network has renewed “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Svu” for the 2024-25 broadcast TV season. Among Dick Wolf scripted series, that leaves just “Law & Order: Organized Crime” on the bubble; a renewal for that show, which has experienced multiple showrunner changes in its short life, is still in discussion.
Among the shows, this will rep the 26th season of “Law & Order: SVU,” the 24th season of “Law & Order,” Season 13 for “Chicago Fire,” the 12th season for “Chicago PD” and the 10th season for “Chicago Med.” All of the renewed series are produced by Universal Studio Group’s Universal Television division, along with Wolf Entertainment, and all shows stream the following day on Peacock. NBC has renewed most — but not all — of the shows in its two biggest franchises for the 2024-25 season.
The network has ordered new seasons of all three of its Chicago dramas — Med, Fire and Pd — along with Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu. Notably missing from the list is Law & Order: Organized Crime, whose status is “still under discussion,” according to NBC. All six series come from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television.
Svu will add to its record as the longest-running primetime drama in American TV history with a 26th season in 2024-25, while Law & Order — which recently saw the departure of series fixture Sam Waterston — will air its 24th. Chicago Med will hit double digits with its 10th season, Fire will air its 13th and Pd its 12th.

‘Chicago Med’: First Look at Sophia Ali as ‘Impulsive’ New Doc Causing Headaches for Archer (Photos)
Chicago Med might have said goodbye to a couple of original cast members last season (Brian Tee and Nick Gehlfuss), but the Ed is getting help from some new blood this year. The Wilds‘ Sophia Ali has joined the cast in the recurring role of Dr. Zola Ahmad, TV Insider has learned. In order to help her patients, Zola often acts impulsively in ways the hospital doesn’t approve of. She will be introduced in the second episode of the season, “This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us,” airing January 24. Check out photos of her above and below. George Burns Jr/NBC Executive producers Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider previously teased this new resident. “She’s someone who will cause a lot of headaches for the Chief of the Ed, Archer [Steven Weber],” Schneider shared. “She will overstep. She’s impulsive.” That’s not all that Archer will be dealing with.

One Chicago has become the franchise to look at when it comes to crossovers done right, whether it’s one character or all three shows teaming up for a major event. No one does it better. However, we might not get that this season, according to Chicago Med executive producers Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider. While Frolov is “sure” they’ll have those smaller crossovers, with characters coming over from Chicago Fire and P.D., “as far as a big crossover, it’s being talked about, but it’s difficult because each show is in a different dramatic place in a way that characters are involved in their stories,” she explains to TV Insider. “So it just becomes, when is it appropriate for one character to cross over into another?” After all, Med in its premiere just set up a whole slew of storylines: Charles (Oliver Platt) seeing ...

When Chicago Med returns for Season 9, some things have changed at the hospital — and in its staff’s personal lives. One relationship is still going strong, while another isn’t doing well. Charles (Oliver Platt) has history with the new Ed attending, Ripley (Luke Mitchell), while it’s the past that might be keeping Archer (Steven Weber) from accepting the organ he needs. And the hospital is under new management, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. Executive producers Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider preview the drama to come. You’re bringing in this new Ed attending, Ripley, and he has a history with Charles. What can you preview about that history and their dynamic now? Diane Frolov: It goes back to when Ripley was an adolescent. He is carrying some resentment about what happened between him and Charles. Andy Schneider: The whole thing has forced Charles to look...

It’s been a long wait for NBC’s Chicago Med to return with its 9th Season but with the premiere less than a week away (January 17), Deadline has some juicy nuggets to tease about the show’s return.
In the Season 8 finale, the medical drama said goodbye to Day 1-er Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) who handed in his resignation after finding himself more and more unsettled with the new changes implemented at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center following Jack Dayton’s purchase of the hospital. His main concern was Dayton’s insistence on using the O.R. 2.0. even after a machine error caused the death of a patient and could’ve also claimed Dayton’s life.
Dayton’s live surgery for investors cost him nearly all his money after showing the high-tech machine wasn’t ready for showtime. So to stay afloat financially, Dayton sells the hospital.

Eight of Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television writers rooms are opening this week following the end of the writers strike. Additionally, two new showrunners have been named: “Chicago Fire” Season 12 will be run by Andrea Newman, formerly co-showrunner with Derek Haas; and “FBI: International” Season 3 will be run by executive producer Matt Olmstead.
Haas, who co-created “Chicago Fire,” was the previous showrunner of “FBI: International” as well. He exited Wolf Entertainment last November after 10 years.

Exclusive: T.V. Carpio (Big Sky) has joined the cast of NBC’s Chicago Med in a recurring role, Deadline hears. She will portray Dr. Grace Song, a new doctor hired by Jack Dayton (Sasha Roiz) who will shake things up when the show returns in the spring.

Yes, Chicago Med‘s Ethan and April are getting hitched in this Wednesday’s fall finale, but the lead-up to the big day is not without its hiccups.
The episode (airing at 8/7c on NBC) marks longtime series regular Brian Tee’s final one as Dr. Ethan Choi, and the seeds for his exit were planted in the Season 8 premiere, when Yaya DaCosta reprised her role as Ethan’s ex April. The two then resumed their romantic relationship, and by the Nov. 16 installment, their friends and colleagues had received surprise invitations to their wedding. Brian Tee, who plays Ethan Choi on Chicago Med, is leaving the show after 8 seasons on the NBC drama. His last appearance will be him tying the knot to April Sexton, played by Yaya DaCosta, and executive producers of the show are revealing what will happen to the couple after Tee’s exit.
“They’re starting a mobile clinic so that together they can take first-rate medical care to underserved neighborhoods in Chicago,” co-showrunner Andrew Schneider told People about the fate of Ethan and April.
Schneider said that Ethan and April would “remain in town” which leaves the door open for Tee to reprise his rule in the future. Although Tee will not be in front of the camera following his appearance on the Dec. 7 episode, he will return for Episode 16 behind the cameras to make his directorial debut.

One happy ending, coming right up! After learning Brian Tee was leaving Chicago Med, showrunners Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov started planning one for his tightly wrapped Navy vet, Dr. Ethan Choi — ideally a farewell story that would include his ex-fiancée, nurse April Sexton. “We felt that was the way to honor Brian’s character,” says Schneider. “And to pay off the relationship with April,” Frolov adds. Their future together became clear in the hospital drama’s November 16 episode, when they surprised colleagues with wedding invitations! Not that there aren’t some hiccups. When the December 7 hour opens, it’s the evening before the nuptials, and April’s beloved father is experiencing chest pains. While she worries about his health, the bride and groom’s pre-wedding jitters worsen. “These are people used to being single,” Schneider says. “This is a huge step.” Fear not, vows are exchanged at historic St.

But some have found their back, like Jessy Schram’s Dr. Hannah Asher and Yaya DaCosta’s April Sexton, prompting TVLine to ask showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider if they’ve ever considered bringing back fan-favorite Connor.

When Dick Wolf kicked off the “One Chicago” world on NBC in 2012 with “Chicago Fire” — a spinoff of the “Law & Order” universe — it was a bit of a boys’ club.
Derek Haas, Matt Olmstead and Michael Brandt led “Fire” as showrunners; less than two years later, “Chicago P.D.” premiered with Olmstead at the head. In 2015 came the third leg of the franchise with “Chicago Med” under Andrew Dettmann, Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov. Dettmann exited after Season 1 and Schneider and Frolov, a married couple, have led it ever since.
Now, women are at the helm of all three shows.
For many years, Frolov was the first female showrunner on the franchise. Although they’d never met Wolf before, when they first sat down together, they pitched a pilot idea and he set up a meeting with the network.

Chicago Med is saying goodbye to a fan favorite.
Kristen Hager is exiting the NBC after just half a season as a series regular.
Hager starred as Dr. Stevie Hammer, and her storyline seemingly concluded on Chicago Med Season 7 Episode 14.
If you watch Chicago Med online, you know Steve chose to move back to Michigan to save her marriage with her estranged husband.

Dr. Stevie Hammer is ending her residency at the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center as Kristen Hager has exited Chicago Med after just half a season. Hager joined the NBC medical drama as a series regular for the currently airing seventh season, starring as physician Stevie Hammer. Her character teased a potential romantic interest in Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) during her time on the show.
