- Played Valerie Bertinelli's boyfriend and eventual husband in the last seasons of One Day at a Time (1975).
- Trained at Juilliard, he found early stage work on the NYC stage at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Roundabout Theatre and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

- I'm afraid of taking chances and afraid of being humiliated. Most actors are, I think. Acting is a refined form of masochism.
- What I really am more than anything is really lucky. I'm lucky that people have asked me to do a wide variety of not only characters but also genres and styles.
- Even though I have been--dare I say--embraced by the community of people who do musicals, I'm just an honorary member.
