Miranda Lambert is a country sensation known for writing Grammy Award-winning albums. While she’s ultra-successful now, she didn’t always grow up wealthy. Her favorite Christmas song concerns her parents’ financial struggles, which affected her childhood and living situation. Here’s what Lambert said about growing up without money.
Miranda Lambert’s favorite Christmas song is ‘If We Make It Through December’ because of her family’s money struggles
Miranda Lambert comes from humble beginnings. She appeared on Nashville Star, a televised country music singing competition much like American Idol, in 2003, which is how she started her career. She grew up in the Texas town of Lindale and had a guitar at 10, thanks to her dad.
Lambert’s parents worked as private investigators, and her father would sing and play guitar during downtime. She told Classic Country 100.9 that her family would hit tough times during the holidays. Her father...

Bill Daly’s blood has apparently turned the Hudson River red outside of the 828 detention center as Netflix’s Manifest season four episode 15 opens. The mood among NY citizens is darkening with this new development, and more people are turning against the 828ers since they appear to be the cause of multiple plagues.
The passengers holed up in the safe house wonder if they need to find a new place to hide out. Co-captain Daniel Amuta (Leajato Amara Robinson) is in charge, and he orders his fellow 828ers to get ready to hunker down. “The city’s a powder keg,” says Amuta.
Ben (Josh Dallas) is certain that having Angelina locked up at the center is a horrible idea. He suggests that Director Zimmer consider using Saanvi’s calling-suppressing serum on Angelina, but Zimmer claims that holding Angelina in isolation is enough.

Director Matt Sobel and screenwriter Kyle Warren take a different approach to the horror in their remake of 2014’s Goodnight Mommy, now available on Prime Video.
In this update, “twin brothers (Cameron Crovetti and Nicholas Crovetti) arrive at their mother’s (Naomi Watts) country home to discover her face covered in bandages—the result, she explains, of recent cosmetic surgery—they immediately sense that something doesn’t add up. She sets strange new house rules, smokes in her bathroom, and secretly rips up a drawing they gave her—things their loving mother would never do.
“As her behavior grows increasingly bizarre and erratic, a horrifying thought takes root in the boys’ minds: The sinking suspicion that the woman beneath the gauze, who’s making their food and sleeping in the next room, isn’t their mother at all.”
Bloody Disgusting chatted with Sobel about his update, where the filmmaker explained...

It’s hard to avoid comparisons to Lost after taking in NBC‘s Manifest, and while that may pull in a lot of viewers, it also makes it tricky to recommend. The very idea of comparing anything to Lost implies, at the very least, that you don’t know what’s going on, or where things are headed. Worse, Lost ended with a closing season that ultimately negated everything that came before. You can’t watch Lost again, because that’s just an exercise in discovering how nonsensical it all was, and the true extent to which it was all just made up on the fly with no endgame in mind. Who wants to sign up for a new version of that? In Manifest, a flight takes off from Jamaica, hits some turbulence, but lands more or less on time in New York. When they disembark, they’re told that...

Time hasn't run out for Jane Doe. The Blindspot TV show has been renewed for a fourth season by NBC. The series, which once seemed like it could be the Peacock Network's next big thing has hemorrhaged viewers each season, so the renewal is a bit of a surprise. An NBC crime drama, Blindspot stars Sullivan Stapleton, Jaimie Alexander, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson, and Luke Mitchell. After amnesiac “Jane Doe” (Alexander) is found in Times Square, FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Stapleton) and his team work to decipher her intricate tattoos. Despite a web of conspiracy and corruption, they begin to uncover the clues therein, as well as Jane’s identity. Read More…...

Amazon‘s reboot of The Tick is a timely entry into the world of superhero screen takeover, but a bag of mixed emotions for those of us old enough to remember the short-lived, 2001 version starring Patrick Warburton, who was so perfect as the titular hero that it made you imagine he never had any other career goal.
Peter Serafinowicz manages a strong turn in the role, and it’s one that seems nearly impossible to pull off, but it’s hard to avoid a sense of nostalgic longing.
The Tick is a purposely goofball endeavor that reminds of live-actioning Scooby Doo (but, you know, if there were a good version of that). The pilot may seem rough to some audiences, but there is a lot to establish and it manages to get things out while delivering some laughs. President Underwood and his First Lady have a mission, and woe to those who get in their way.
When last we left “House of Cards,” Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) were by each other’s side in their mission to combat terrorism, specifically the radical Islamist group known as the Islamic Caliphate Organization (Ico), which had broadcast an execution of a hostage.

Already with more buzz behind it than just about anything hitting this fall, The Blacklist actually deserves the attention, and if things swing in the right direction over the next few episodes, this could easily become the most popular show on television.
I’ve obviously built in an out there, because, much as I am impressed with the pilot, this is a show that could go wrong, especially if the writers become too locked onto the gimmick, as opposed to tearing into the characters.
James Spader plays Raymond “Red” Reddington, a man who has spent a lot of his life on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, who suddenly shows up to turn himself in. He has a little something different in mind, and now wants to work with authorities to catch, as he says, the real bad guys. The ones that aren’t even on anyone’s list, except his own,...

This year, the fall television schedule is a decidedly crazy beast. I know, that doesn’t seem like the sort of thing that separates any year from any other, but television is in the midst of dizzying spins of theory, and comparisons to previous years show some serious changes.
Most striking is probably the extent to which the big networks are content to leave each other alone. Also noticeable is the unspoken admission that perhaps DVRs exist, and the schedule doesn’t really need to worry quite as much about who is watching what at the exact moment it airs. We’re still pretending to a degree, but there are hints.
At the moment, you’ve only got a quick look, but we will be constantly updating this page as any changes occur, and as the new shows are available for review (sure, we’ve seen them, but we aren’t supposed to “review” them…...

The new fall season is closer than you think, and NBC has released their full schedule. Apart from reality favorites The Biggest Loser and The Voice, they are mixing things up quite a bit.
Take a look at a complete preview of the shows coming your way, and mark your calendars. It looks good for NBC this year, and while I’m not sure all of these look like winners, I think you’ll find at least a couple that you’re really going to like.

It’s that time again, and Ghost Hunters is returning to Syfy for more all-new episodes. Grant may not be with the team anymore, but that isn’t slowing down the investigations. I had a chance to take part in a Q & A session with Jason Hawes recently, and it was pretty interesting. The new season has a Southern flavor about it, and Jason talked about the upcoming episodes, the show without Grant, the continued adventures of the canine member of the crew, and a lot more.
Check it out below, and then catch a clip. Be sure to tune in tonight on Syfy.
Heading into the season, how tough was it to adapt to the investigations without Grant. Can you touch on that just a little bit?

An all new season of The Real Housewives of New York has begun! As exciting as that may sound, the show returned with an hour and a half episode but without more than half of the cast from last season. Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps, and Sonja Morgan are back but that’s all who’s back. The new additions could either bring a fresh spin on the series and rejuvenate it or be the beginning of the downfall. After viewing the premiere with the new cast, do you think that Bravo can hold down a few more successful seasons?

You can keep your Smurfs. We were a little too old when they hit the scene to connect with them in any way. Besides there are so many blue characters in pop culture that deserve the spotlight way more than Papa, Jokey and Brainy. Here are our top ten blue characters in pop culture history.
Boo Berry – We’re Cocoa Puff and Crispy girls, personally. But even as kids we admired the brilliant marketing ploy behind the monster themed cereal craze. And true Count Chocula, Franken Berry, Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy were cool. But Boo Berry was the grooviest ghoul of them all.

USA has a good history with me, and apart from Fairly Legal, it is the home of some of my favorite shows. The network stands out to me, because they live up to their slogan, "Characters Welcome," by delivering shows that focus on putting out quality characters, and staying true to those characters no matter what the cost. Moreover, the idea that shows should be fun, whether they are comedy, drama, or something in between, also seems to guide the network as a whole, and while that might not rake in tons of awards, it makes for, I think, great television.
Coming to you tonight, June 23rd at 10/9c, the newest effort to hit the network is Suits, a legal show that focuses mainly on Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams).
Harvey is a hotshot, arrogant attorney at a major law firm in Manhattan.

As told to Archana Ram.
The Elimination challenge was brutal. In a lot of ways, even at its strangest and most gimmicky, Top Chef mimics the real world in the sense that, when you run a restaurant, on a Saturday night, you don’t know who your customers are going to be and what’s going to go wrong. You might have to improvise. It was certainly a tough challenge. Plus it was 3 in the morning. The exhaustion factor with these guys was big.
I don’t know whether making soup was a strategy, but the chefs were desperate. They were in a limited situation.

A string of unsuccessful shows that followed includingFastlane (with former 90210 co-star Jennie Garth’s husband Peter Facinelli),Good Morning Miami, and What About Brian. But nothing stuck until 2009 when shewas cast as FBI agent Peter Burke’s wife, Elizabeth Burke on White Collar.
