2 Guns producer Randall Emmett is working on a sequel to the comic book action movie.
The Lone Survivor producer has revealed that he hopes to follow up this year's Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg-starring film.
"I don't wanna be so bold to say, you know, it's 100%," he told Collider.
"Of course it comes down to Denzel and Mark and the director, Baltasar [Kormákur], who's doing Everest now, who have to make that decision. We, of course, would love to do a sequel and we are pushing for a sequel."
"I think we have to find the right story because that, of course, [is what] it all comes back to, but I think that we'll probably push forward with a script soon and then hopefully if the creative powers that be, you know, fall in love with the storyline, then we would start to have that conversation."

According to Film Music Reporter, composer Clinton Shorter has been hired to score Universal's upcoming action thriller 2 Guns, based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel written by Stephen Grant. Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg team up for the Baltasar Kormakur-directed film, which follows " a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who unwittingly investigate each other as each steals mob money." Paula Patton, James Marsden, Bill Paxton and Edward James Olmos also star. Shorter previously worked with Kormakur on last year's actioner Contraband, which also stars Wahlberg. The screenplay was written by Blake Masters (Law & Order: La), and Marc Platt, Andrew Cosby, Ross Richie, Norton Herrick, Randall Emmett and George Furla are all on board as producers. 2 Guns is set to hit theaters August 2nd. The Fighter director David O Russell is adding projects to his schedule left, right and center. Deadline reports that the probable 2010 Best Director Oscar nominee is in early talks to re-write 2 Guns, a two lead action/comedy vehicle that he hopes to one day direct at Universal, with Vince Vaughn attached.
The movie is an adaptation of Stephen Grant’s graphic novel about two corrupt lawmen; one a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who are put on the case to investigate each other.
Owen Wilson had been interested in the film, marking something of a Wedding Crashes reunion… but it looks like he has lost interest. Blake Masters (Brotherhood, Rubicon) wrote an early draft of the screenplay. Project sounds cool to us, anyone read the graphic novel?
O’Russell’s next movie is expected to be Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune with Mark Wahlberg.

For the fourth consecutive year Hollywood has selected its Black List, a compilation of the top unproduced screenplays for 2009. Over 300 film professionals were asked to submit the titles of up to ten of their favorite screenplays. The only condition for the picks were that the projects would not be released in theaters this year. That means some of the Black List honorees may be in the process of being turned into movies but by far the majority remain thoughts on digital ink, a blueprint for grand dramatic ideas, high-reaching adventure and controversial ideas waiting to be burned to light.
For a screenplay to have made it onto the Black List it must have received at least five votes for it. Some scripts have five votes while the top-rated screenplay received 47 votes. That doesn't mean that the script with the most votes is the best screenplay of the year; it means...
