Spoilers for "X-Men '97" to follow.
Storm, mistress of the elements ... no more? In episode 2 of "X-Men '97" — "Mutant Liberation Begins" — Storm/Ororo Monroe (still voiced by Alison Sealy-Smith) took a shot from a gun fired by the villainous X-Cutioner, an assassin affiliated with the anti-mutant hate group the Friends of Humanity. The shot, intended for Magneto, robbed Storm of her weather-manipulating powers: "The breeze is gone ... I cannot feel it, nor the moisture, nor the air," she despairs before the tears finally swell up. It's a sign of Magneto's growth of character that he stays his hand of X-Cution after Storm's fate.
According to Beast, the gun fired the same radiation used by the collars that inhibit mutant powers. However, the blast is concentrated to deliver its dosage on a cellular level, so the depower is permanent. Storm, feeling she doesn't belong with the X-Men anymore and unable to say goodbye in person,...

Forget Batman, forget the X-Men. The greatest rogues gallery in comics history belongs to Spider-Man. So great are his baddies that Sony continues to spend millions of dollars to launch a cinematic universe around them. And while Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom continue to get most of the attention, even B-level guys like the Spot have been elevated to big bads.
But let’s be honest, even Spider-Man comics have a few duds when it comes to bad guys. Even if we took out the horrendous mess that was the Clone Saga (and we aren’t going to take it out), Spider-Man would still have too many losers and redundant villains to count. So, here are the absolute worst of the worst in Spider-Man’s villain roster, characters so dull that they aren’t good for much besides getting killed in a crossover event.

This past week we lost one of the industry’s best. As Dan Green pulls his chair up to the great drawing board in the sky I look back on an amazing career. For me, Dan Green was probably the first inker I knew the name of. This comes from hunting down my back issues of Wolverine. Marc Silvestri and Adam Kubert were two of my favourites to track down issues of and Green was always the third name in the credits. Perhaps this is doing inkers a discredit. They are like drummers in rock bands in that regard. Essential to creativity but one step behind the limelight. If someone like Joe Sinnott was like the old-school drumming of Ringo Starr, then Green is more akin to the style of John Bonham. In my opinion, he was the first rock star inker.
The journey began for Dan Green in Detroit.

Wolverine #32 Writer: Benamin Percy | Artist: Juan Jose Ryp | Colourist: Frank D’Armata | Letters: Cory Petit
Are we going to have to start calling this series Beast Goes Full Evil? At this point I think Benjamin Percy is the only writer I would trust to have a comic called Wolverine completely dominated by Beast and his continuing journey to the dark side. It has been going on for three issues now and it works. Beast is the center of attention in this book right now and Percy is killing it! Not to completely scare fans off, Wolverine does make a fleeting appearance in this issue in true Wolverine fashion. Barging in on the Quiet Council and telling them exactly what is what and how he is going to put things right. Though out reading this issue I did keep asking myself how and if this ties into ‘Fall of X’ or...

This week I will be taking an in depth look at some key issues from the ‘Bronze Age.’ I will be going indepth for all the ;Comics Ages’ in the future. I am starting with the Bronze because it is the era I am most familiar with as a reader and a collector. Also it is the era that is both dominating adaptations for the silver screen and inspiring this generation of comic creators. My original plan was use the Zap-Kapow (the official price guide of eBuying Comics) and talk about the 10 most highly valued issues of the Bronze Age. Five from Marvel and five from DC. But every comics website on the planet in their time has done a variation on this. So I decided to drop down some levels, still picking out key issues. But key issues that aren’t going to break the bank because of Hollywood interference…...

Many people were predicting the worst for Jeff Fowler’s Sonic the Hedgehog, and understandably so, as the original design for the character was rather terrifying and no one really wanted to hand over their money to sit in a cinema watching a family film where the titular hero was a nightmare to look at. Thankfully, then, Paramount delayed the pic by three months and spent millions of dollars on a total redesign.
Things worked out well, too, as Sonic the Hedgehog went on to find itself as just the second video game adaptation ever to secure a Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes after Detective Pikachu, not to mention it’s also the fourth biggest hit of this year thanks to bringing in $310 million globally.
Of course, a sequel was announced in short order and we know that it’ll feature Knuckles in what’s said to be a substantial role.

Over the last 10 months Roobla has partnered with Veboli.com offering our movie reviews to their users to help them choose which movies to watch. With all this data Veboli founder Thomas van Wageningen noticed various patterns in how critics rate movies compared to users and has compiled this short, but interesting report for us.
At Veboli, we’re always thinking of ways to improve the movie advice we give the movie lovers on our site. Last summer we rounded up movie critics from all over the world, including seven here at Roobla, to connect movie lovers to critics that best understand their own taste in movies. This of course generates a lot of data. With all that data, I wondered: how do you users compare to critics?
Before diving into the movies, let’s look at how the critics here at Roobla compare to the average users ratings on Veboli.

The word “cabaret” brings with it tons of evocations, many of which are false. All that cabaret means, really, is a combination of song and storytelling; an artist able to perform as their authentic self. And as an audience member, there is usually booze involved. What could be better than that? Los Angeles, of course, has dozens of cabaret venues throughout the city at which top-tier talent from around the world will drop in for performances. Here are some of the best. Catalina Jazz ClubWhere: HollywoodWhat: With a slogan like “Nothing but the best in jazz,” Catalina has a lot to live up to. Luckily for patrons and performers alike, it meets expectations. Countless jazz stalwarts have graced its stage including Joe Williams, Marcus Miller, and Dizzie Gillespie. However, Catalina has also welcomed performers from outside the strictly jazz realm as well, including talents from musical theater like James Snyder,...

A sheriff’s officer happily reunited with a girl he saved just hours earlier as she celebrated her fourth birthday at a local pool in Panama City, Florida.
Jeff Haire was with his family at Frank Brown Park on May 28, when he saw a man carrying Davie’onna — who seemed “lifeless” — out of the pool, according to Today.

'Psychoanalysis', written and directed by Aftrs grad James Raue.

In my opinion, Zack Snyder's Watchmen movie has one of greatest opening title sequences of any movie. It was done so damn well, and we've seen it reimagined for different films a few times over the years, but now we have one that was created for Suicide Squad. It comes from Chris Banks, and he did a great job with it. He did something a little different with it by including a completely different song — "I Started A Joke" by The Bee Gees. A different version of the song was used in the marketing for the film, and it works perfectly for this fan-made video.
