Songwriter ("Thank You, America") and author, educated in public
schools. He wrote special material for films, and he wrote the Broadway
stage score for "Linger Longer Letty". Joining ASCAP in 1922, his chief
musical collaborator was Al Goodman, and his other popular-song
compositions include "Little Grey Mother", "How I Love You, Mother
Mine", "Too Beautiful for Words", "Wonder If She's Lonely, Too", "We're
Going Over", "Buddy", and "You Didn't Want Me When You Had Me".
