His movie career began at the Mosfilm studio. Was a student in the
Russian Movie Institute where his first work was the "Uncle Vanya"
project (1970). He graduated the institute in 1967 moving on to make
many films for which he received a government award for achievement in
the art. His best known movies are:
Anna Pavlova (1983),
Ryaba, My Chicken (1994),
The Beloved Woman of Mechanic Gavrilov (1982), and many others.
