Mira was born in Poland just before World War II to a Jewish family.
She studied fine arts and became a painter, exhibiting in various
London galleries where she lived with husband and son, she has
maintained this passion till present day. Early in her career after
seeing some early work of Roman Polanski she found a great interest in
filmmaking, and joined the Lods film school in Poland where having
lived through the disasters and troubles of the war, she decided to
share some of her experiences with the public in artistic and shocking
filmic ways, she made a number of documentaries featuring the
diversities of religions and race between different people, and also
published books about her feelings: "The River of Angry Dogs" her
autobiography being one of her most acclaimed. More recently she
received a letter by acclaimed film director Steven Spielberg referring
to one of her film Loving the Dead; a very thoughtful letter of praise.
A very dedicated woman who respects and contributes to art in a unique
way, is more recently working on her writing.
