Keep calm; ‘Days of Our Lives’ is in fact carrying on. NBC Entertainment chairman Paul Telegdy confirmed at the Television Critics Assn. press tour that the long-running daytime drama will be returning for another season on NBC.
“We’re in the middle of knowing very soon [whether] ‘Days of Our Lives’ is going to carry on,” said Telegdy. “We love it. Millions of Americans watch it every week. … I know this will be good news for the fans. I know that someone [at the network is] going, ‘You can’t say that,” but we are of course carrying on with ‘Days of Our Lives.'”
That follows news in November that the entire cast of the series had been released from their contracts. Not long after that, however, sources told Variety that the series was nearing a deal for a renewal for Season 56.

Todd Strauss-Schulson, the director of Harold and Kumar 3D, released an online short, The Master Cleanse. With its clever tagline, "shit's about to get real," The Master Cleanse features a couple whose relationship faces the ultimate test as the pair embarks on a juice cleanse weight loss diet. The project stars Will Greenberg and Amanda Walsh as the couple Scott and Kelly, along with Duncan Trussell, Lindsay Hollister, James Kirkland, Niki Schwartz-Wright, Mhairi Steenbock, and Kana Mayham. Watch out for the surprise twist ending! "The exercise of making The Master Cleanse was to see if we could make a short and strip away all of our tricks; no action, no chase scenes, no fancy angles, or violence, and see if two people talking about universal relationship problems could be as compelling as an all girls high octane pillow fight," Strauss-Shulson told Tubefilter. "In a way it was a filmmaking master cleanse for us.

The earth will quake January 31st when Phase 4 Films unleashes Blubberella to DVD and VOD audiences. And with a tagline like "Half vampire, two and a half women," you know the jokes are going to be crass in typical Uwe Boll (Bloodrayne 3) style. Another tagline "Pound for poung pure action," is not much better and the film has been called: "a big ol’ meaty wad of concentrated awful" (Rigney). Phase 4 Films would like us to believe that Uwe boll "has a huge cult following," but 28Dla would like to start a spontantaneous anti-Boll petition right here. Let us stop Boll from making any more films!
For those interested, Blubberella was filmed dually with Bloodrayne 3 in Zagreb, Croatia. And many actors from Bloodrayne 3 participate in this film: "you almost feel sorry for the film’s cast, who have been plucked from the set of Bloodrayne 3 to participate in one...

Uwe Boll graced his “fans” with not one but two youtube trailers for his upcoming feature films. The first film is the third installment in the Bloodrayne series. This one has Rayne battling Nazis during World War II where she runs into nefarious Nazi Ekart Brand. Brand, played by Michael Paré, plans to inject Adolf Hitler with Rayne’s blood to make him immortal. The second is Blubberella, an action comedy that follows the exploits of an overweight woman whose footsteps supposedly “cause explosions” and wields dual swords against anyone who dares make fun of her weight. Lindsay Hollister plays the Nazi battling Blubberella, and it appears that Uwe Boll is spoofing his own movies now as there are numerous vampire references in the trailer spouted from the mouths of the same actors who starred in the third Bloodrayne film. Well now that director Uwe Boll has got all the "serious" filmmaking out of his system with the prison thriller Stoic, political drama Darfur, and yes, even the holocaust movie Auschwitz, it's time to get back to the other tasteless stuff that no one wants to see. This week a trailer for his new film Blubberella has hit the web, the star of which is described as "the first female fat superhero." Apparently she's part vampire and she kills nazis with blades, machine guns and rolling pins (not to mention her girth). Lindsay Hollister (Get Smart, Postal) stars in the somewhat degrading lead role, while Michael Paré (Seed, The Philadelphia Experiment) and, yes, Clint Howard also make appearances. This definitely seems more in the vein of Postal, which I know some people actually liked, but somehow I can't even muster any half-hearted ironic excitement for it. Whether or not it's...

All I've ever wanted in life is to see Clint Howard play Dr. Josef Mengele. My dream has come true.
Here's the trailer for the weirdest and most irreverent film Uwe Boll has made thus far. Blubberella is clearly intended as a comedy, and while there are plenty of fat jokes (mostly with food), the rest of the cast is certainly willing to degrade themselves as well. Clint Howard plays notorious medical monster Dr. Josef Mengele, while Boll takes on the evil Adolf Hitler himself, with just a touch of the retarded. There's some slapstick, and much of it is a parody of Boll's other two films (also shot in the same location, at the same time) Bloodrayne III and Auschwitz, both of which are far more serious and dark in tone.
However, will women be offended? There's no fat suit, people - star Lindsay Hollister is a plus-sized actress showing her comedy chops.

Uwe Boll has managed to shock and offend again in his obese-ploitation film Blubberella. Turning World War II into a comedy seems to be distasteful, but filmmaker Roberto Benigni found some laughs with this subject in his award winning film Life is Beautiful. However, Blubberella is not likely to win many awards as an "overweight woman [uses] dual swords...against anyone who make fun of her" (Quiet). Here katanas seem to be loaves of French bread, as seen in the trailer below.
One really needs to wonder what Boll is doing some days. Sometimes he comes up with an excellent commentary on the prevalence of North American violence in Rampage. Then, he turns a video game into a franchise e.g. Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark. His inconsistency is what draws questions. So, please Boll stick to making films with relevant social commentaries like Darfur and leave the easily targeted overweight women alone.

Okay, maybe you didn’t so much as demanded it, but you were probably really, really curious how it would turn out. Or maybe not so much. Whatever. Here it is anyway, the trailer for Doctor Uwe Boll’s latest masterpiece, “Blubberella”. It’s apparently a comedy, if you didn’t “get” it by the comedic music playing over the background. After all, nothing says funny than Nazis and fat chicks in a World War II setting. Um. An action comedy centered on an overweight woman whose footsteps cause explosions and whose dual swords are used against anyone who makes fun of her. Actually, I don’t really see her using swords, though she does wield a pretty mean machinegun in the trailer. Nazis, man, I’m sure they all had it coming, though. Starring Lindsay Hollister, Michael Paré, Clint Howard, and Uwe Boll himself. Release date? Look for it...

The other week we brought you the news that much critiqued Teutonic auteur Uwe Boll had made a comedy about a supersized superheroine called Blubberella. Well, never mind the Boll, uh, announcements. The director has just released the trailer for his new meisterwork, which stars Lindsay Hollister as the titular half-human, half-vampire hero and Boll himself as—and we’re not joking here—Hitler.
You can watch the trailer for both that and Bloodrayne 3: The Third Reich—the movie Blubberella parodies, and which was filmed simultaneously—after the jump. Be warned: the latter contains some rough language.

Some things sound so absurd your first instinct is to say to yourself, "That cannot be true!" Well, not only is Uwe Boll's film about the world's first fat superhero, Blubberella, a reality, but we have the trailer to prove it.
Lindsay Hollister (who had a small role in Postal) stars as the overweight heroine. Clint Howard and Michael Pare co-star. Uwe Boll himself is listed as having an acting role in the film.

A piece recently at FishbowlLA that opened with this: Like most sane moviegoers, Entertainment Weekly writer Clark Collis initially reacted to news of a new Uwe Boll film called Blubberella the same way he would to the prospect of a Joaquin Phoenix documentary. But it turns out a plan by the “craptastic filmmaker” to make a fat female superhero tale with Lindsay Hollister is dead serious. was entitled “The Year’s Worst Movie Title.” And it’s probably true that Blubberella is the year’s worst movie title, or is at least a close second after Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. And it got me thinking: What is the worst movie title ever?...

Blubberella is not a spoof of fat chicks, says star Lindsay Hollister, but a spoof of Boll's own Bloodrayne series.
"We shot Blubberella (couldn't fight him on that name, though I tried) along side BloodRayne 3," says actress and comedian Lindsay Hollister when we asked her about the new film Blubberella ('The first female fat superhero') directed by legendary Teuton Uwe Boll. "That's why the cast of Bloodrayne 3 is the same as Blubberella, except for myself in the title role. Michael Pare still plays the Commandant (though a wackier version of him)."
And as far as how the film will be played, it is a parody. "We wanted to make a spoof movie, making fun of everyone really. But mostly taking the script of Bloodrayne 3 and mocking it."
The news about Blubberella has been floating around the Internet a lot the past few weeks, mainly because people don't know how to react to an over-sized superhero.

The last time Uwe Boll tried his hand at making a comedy, it was the controversial Postal. Some heralded the film a hilarious comedic romp and Boll's best film to date. Let's see how they feel about Blubberella, Boll's new horror comedy about an obese superheroine battling the forces of evil.
You can accuse Uwe Boll of many things, but a slacker he is not. His Billy Zane drama about the atrocities being committed in Darfur hits DVD shelves today, a biopic on the life of famed German boxer Max Schmeling is awaiting release, and he has a third BloodRayne film finally set in Nazi Germany like the original video game due next year. And, since he had the sets and costumes on hand, he's moved full speed ahead into what will undoubtedly be a very controversial movie graphically depicting the Holocaust horrors committed at Auschwitz. I once spent an unpleasant month trying to lose 25 pounds so I could box German director Uwe Boll. The infamously craptastic filmmaker — and onetime amateur pugilist — had challenged critics to, literally, get in the ring with him, but insisted that his opponents weigh less than 200 pounds. (Yes, yes, I’m a big fat bastard — please feel free to tell me something I don’t know.) Eventually, my superiors at EW banned me from battling Boll, on the grounds that having one of their staffers sweatily duke it out with The World’s Worst Director, and probably suffer a massive coronary in the process,...

Director Uwe Boll's next film will be titled Blubberella, the first fat superhero. There's not a lot to go on right now but Boll is a genius when it comes to getting attention for his projects and this will be no different.
Lindsay Hollister, Clint Howard, Michael Paré, and Uwe Boll himself star in this farce superhero treatment. This film is a top-secret project, it's not even on IMDb.
Synopsis:
“The first female fat superhero …
She will kick major ass – with her major ass …

Bloodrayne fans don't worry, Bloodrayne: The Third Reich will release first.

Uwe Boll (Postal, Bloodrayne) offers us this offensive and awful new film with the hopes that fat women everywhere will be pissed and that men will enjoy it.
I'm not a Boll hater. I must admit I find his lackadaisical attitude towards criticism honestly refreshing, while his devil-may-care usage of un=politically correct filmic fodder is actually nice in this 'everyone has self-esteem issues' 21st Century. But has he gone too far by picking on fat chicks in his latest mocking movie? Blubberella, which has just finished shooting, boasts the following synopsis:

Ok, if you can't tell, Boll wrote that himself. That's how he speaks: a lilting, funny Germanic childlike voice usually spewing out inappropriate (though often self-deprecatory) humor.
