John Lee Hooker was born on August 22, 1917 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for The Blues Brothers (1980), The Colony (2013) and Kiss the Girls (1997). He was married to Maude Mathis, Alma Hopes and Sarah Jones. He died on June 21, 2001 in Los Altos, California, USA.
He passed away on the same day that legendary actor, Carroll O'Connor did. The coincidental thing about this is that their stars
are right next to each other on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1992). Won a Blues Grammy Award with Bonnie Raitt for "The Healer".
When he was young, he told everyone that he was born on 22 August 1917, so he would seem older and more experienced. Later, he corrected himself, and said he was born on 22 August 1920.
He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7083 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on September 11, 1997.
