FanDuel spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on commercials that surround big sports broadcasts. Now it wants to make sports-wagering — the activity at the core of its business — a bigger part of the studio discussions that are also such an essential part of the sports-tv experience.
Charles Barkley, one of the standouts on the analyst roster on the “NBA on TNT” show, has agreed to work as an ambassador and spokesman for the sports-betting giant. As the result of a pact struck in July between FanDuel and WarnerMedia’s Turner Sports, Barkley will use his roost on the long-running TNT show to make predictions and guarantees about the night’s games that will push viewers to consider playing on FanDuel as part of the action.

ESPN is teaming with Jimmy Kimmel for a multi-part “30 for 30” on the 1986 New York Mets.
Kimmel, an unabashed fan of the Mets, will executive produce the documentary under his Kimmelot production banner, with Sal Iacono (“Cousin Sal”), Scott Lonker, Jordana Hochman and Mlb’s Nick Trotta. Nick Davis will direct.
The multi-part series will feature hours of never-before-seen footage of the ’86 Mets, a team known just as much for its off-field exploits as it was for its on-field dominance. It also came during a unique moment in New York baseball history: When the Mets were arguably more popular than their cross-town rival Yankees, who were in the midst of a dry spell (that would obviously not last long).

When Jimmy Kimmel was a kid, he created his own comic book called The Terrific Ten filled with crazy funny superhero characters. Well, J.J. Abrams took the comic, put together an all-star cast, and adapted it into a hilarious live-action short film/trailer.
The trailer was made in honor of Kimmel's 50th birthday and it features a character named Muscle Man, who saves the world against an evil villain named Mr. Bolt.
Ben Affleck stars as Muscle Man and Matt Damon plays the villainous Mr. Bolt. They are joined by an awesome cast of actors that include Billy Crudup as Color Kid, Zach Galifianakis as Super Duck, Shaquille O'Neal as Spire, Ty Burrell as Mirgiv, Will Arnett as Meinstrom, Jason Bateman as Bendolite, Jon Hamm as Lucky Lad, Cousin Sal as Super Sal and Jennifer Aniston as Laser Lass.

Every kid has dreamed up their own comic book heroes, or written their tales of grand adventure. However, few of them group up to be celebrities that have A-list friends who can bring it to life. But that’s just what Jimmy Kimmel got for this 50th birthday.
The last night staple has hit the mid-century mark, and as part of the festivities, J.J. Abrams rounded up Kimmel pals and associates Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Cousin Sal, Jon Hamm, Shaq, Ty Burrell, Billy Crudup, Jake Tapper, Wanda Sykes, and Matt Damon to make a trailer for “The Terrific Ten.” Yep, Abrams used Kimmel’s childhood comic as the source material….and it’s pretty dumb.

Jimmy Kimmel went got older in style on Monday night!
The late night host turned 50 with a slew of celebrity guests and surprises on Monday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. There was a performance by James Taylor, a Kimmel-centric version of “Mean Tweets,” and even some comedy stylings by Adam Sandler and Ray Romano.
Perhaps the best gift of the night came from guest Ben Affleck and director J.J. Abrams. “I was able to start this really, really exciting superhero project. That’s my next thing. In fact, the director’s here. I wanted to bring him out,” Affleck said, introducing the Star Wars director.
Abrams brought Kimmel a very special comic book, which the late night host revealed he wrote and drew at the age of nine.

Jimmy Kimmel unleashed comedian Jeff Ross on the Jimmy Kimmel Live offices Wednesday, letting the host of Comedy Central's upcoming Roast Battle dispense some heat to everyone from the show's security guards to executive producers.

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

The women of "Friends" staged a surprise mini reunion on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" after Kimmel pleaded with guest Jennifer Aniston to act out a "Friends" fan fiction scene he wrote. A chagrined Aniston agreed, and Kimmel led her out to a perfect recreation of the set for Monica's kitchen, where the pair, playing Ross and Rachel, discussed how good Ross is in bed. After Kimmel made a crack about how unbelievable it is that the "Friends" gang was always hanging out at Monica's for breakfast before work, both Monica (Courteney Cox) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) arrived. They took turns reciting lines from the show's theme song as dialogue -- complete with hand claps!

Here's a look at some of the late-night chatter you may have missed Tuesday night.
Chelsea Handler had an intimate talk with "Witches of East End" star Jenna Dewan-Tatum, the gorgeous wife of the former Sexiest Man Alive, Channing Tatum. Jenna talked about a super-awkward spa session she had in Vancouver, involving a butt-naked scrub-down. It was a rough scrub, Jenna said, and in full lighting. It was also intimidating because there were beautiful women scrubbing her. Oh, and apparently "Chan" went right after her, for his own butt-naked scrub-down. It sounds like a porno waiting to happen, but apparently it wasn't hot at all. Chan was mortified. And Jenna noted how the scrubber lady knew who he was, so it wasn't even an anonymous awkward butt-naked scrub. And here we thought life was so easy for The Beautiful People!

While there was a blizzard recently ravaging most of the country, the citizens of Southern California were enjoying sunshine and warm temperatures. It just isn't fair, is it?
Don't be too upset, because Jimmy Kimmel set things right Tuesday (Jan. 7) on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Kimmel sent his staff to the beach to talk to people about the bad weather elsewhere, but they were all met with a surprise named Cousin Sal.
Sal pelted the beach bums with snowballs and dumped buckets of fresh powder over the heads of some, because everyone needs to know what that kind of frigid weather feels like. The targets all takes it in stride, except for one guy who chases Sal down the beach. Someone should tell him it's part of the show.

With the Mega Millions Jackpot at around $636 million, the second largest in American history, Jimmy Kimmel figured it would be a good opportunity to allow strangers on the street to put on a mask and tell off their bosses on national television. “If you were to win the lottery, what would you say to your boss?” Kimmel’s Cousin Sal asked people passing by on Hollywood Boulevard. See video: ‘The Hunger Games’ Games: TheWrap Puts Hollywood Blvd. Fans to the Test Good question. It’s just probably not a good one to answer, though, considering your boss can probably recognize your voice without seeing.

For the third year in a row Jimmy Kimmel told parents to tell their kids they ate all the Halloween candy, film it and send it into the show. That wasn’t enough this year, though. He also sent writer and correspondent Cousin Sal to prank trick-or-treaters on Halloween night by offering them clean laundry, free reign at a full salad bar (sneeze guard and all) and more as they approached his house in search of candy....

Jimmy Kimmel loves tormenting children on Halloween. On top of continuing his hilarious tradition of encouraging parents to steal their kids’ hard-earned candy and upload their priceless reaction to the internet, he unleashed his Cousin Sal to greet trick-or-treaters with an arsenal of clean underwear, a full salad bar and the world’s scariest (and possibly tastiest) panda bear monster. See video: Jimmy Kimmel’s Snow White Halloween Costume Is Glorious In a hidden camera segment that Kimmel aired on Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Sal terrorized pint-sized visitors with a variety of tricks when they arrived on his doorstep expecting candy.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were upset in their respective acting categories, but Breaking Bad won the night’s top prize, taking home its first Emmy for Best Drama. It was an unpredictable night in several major categories: In addition to The Newsroom’s Jeff Daniels taking home the trophy for Best Actor in a Drama and Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale winning for Supporting Actor, Veep’s Tony Hale and Nurse Jackie’s Merritt Wever were surprise winners — Wever was so shocked that she practically ran off the stage without delivering an acceptance speech.

The leads of “50 Shades of Grey” have been cast, though not without some internet fan backlash. On Tuesday, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” weighed in on the controversy, with the late night host worrying that perhaps the producers missed an opportunity to hire unknowns for the anticipated screen adaptation. See video: Jon Stewart’s ‘Daily Show’ Return Includes Hitler Impression, Big Macs and Syria Jokes So Jimmy Kimmel held a live open call on the main street just outside his studio. Oh Jessica, you little minx.
Valentine’s Day came early for Jessica Alba fans who shared a smooch with the actress (and a glass pane) on Tuesday night as part of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Celebrity Kissing Booth.”
Enclosed within a glass box, Alba giggled as she found herself on display among a street crowd of what Kimmel’s Cousin Sal called “some of the loneliest perverts in Hollywood.” (Watch The Video Above)
I’m feeling hot and bothered, but not in a good way,” Alba joked from inside the box.

A few years after Mike and Karen Schilling moved onto Meadowlark Lane in 1977, their doorbell started ringing in the wee hours. Mike would usually wake to find a delivery man with pizza or Chinese food on the doorstep. Other times, an impatient cabbie stood waiting. Eventually, the local Chinese, pizza and taxi vendors all refused to send anyone to Meadowlark Lane.
Then there was the shrub Mike left on the curb for the garbage men to pick up. The next morning, he found the plant on his front step. Back to the curb he took it –- only to find it waiting for him again the next morning. The charade continued for weeks; Mike got so annoyed that he started sleeping on the couch in an effort to catch the culprit. But he never did.

We're just days away from the Primetime Emmys, which air Sunday at 8 p.m. Et on ABC, and as we did last year, we have a bit of last-minute advice for the Emmycast's host. This time it's Jimmy Kimmel, ABC's late-night guy, who's on a roll after the alphabet network announced that "Jimmy Kimmel Live" would be moving to 11:35 in January.
Kimmel's a pretty experienced host, so this assignment might not be as daunting for him as it might have been for Jane Lynch last year. But if Jimmy were coming to us for some tips (and we're sure he's eager to hear what we have to say), here are some dos and don'ts we think he should adhere to.
Do keep your snarkiness intact. Kimmel's really good at what we like to think of as gentle edginess; he can easily drop a devastating line and do it in...

Like: Obama on the B.S. Report
I love the B.S. Report. From the Jack-o Panic Meter to the Cousin Sal pods the B.S. Report is highly entertaining during my morning and afternoon subway rides to work. Some say Simmons has lost his "outside looking in" view on sports and this episode couldn't be more evident of that fact. Bill Simmons is in the White House talking to the current President of the United States. Seriously. The episode is short but they tackle some interesting points like Jeremy Lin and throwing out a first pitch. Besides, I like knowing that our president has a "solid" crossover move. I just wish Simmons had the guts to ask to become the Czar of Sports for Obama's next term.

Well you don't have to tell me twice, after Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash were awarded the USC Libraries Scripter Award on Saturday I got a feeling the Writers Guild would be going the same way, and just that has happened. Last night the WGA awarded The Descendants for Best Adapted Screenplay while also awarding Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris for Best Original Screenplay. As a result I have had to change my Oscar predictions in the Best Adapted Screenplay category as it would appear all heat was on the adaptation of Kaui Hart Hemmings's novel and not on Aaron Sorkin and Steve Zaillian's script for Moneyball. You can see those updated predictions right here. In the Original category I have had Allen's script at the top since the beginning and I see no reason to change that now. Granted, The Artist is expected to...

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.

For Sarah Silverman, this has been a week of good news and bad news. First, the bad: On Monday, it was reported, she and boyfriend of five years, Jimmy Kimmel broke up. Now, the good: On Thursday Silverman, 37, was one of those lucky enough to be nominated for an Emmy. But, now for the weird news: the TV Academy nod is linked to what she did on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, an over-the-top music video in which she and the Sexiest Man Alive flaunted their (fictitious and funny) affair to Kimmel, all set to music in a ditty titled, "I'm...
