- David Ilku first appeared in various performances in New York City night clubs. Sharing the stage with the likes of The Beastie Boys and Madonna, he soon got noticed. David has worked in theater projects with the New York Theater Workshop, Drama Dept., and the Culture Project, among others. His film credits include Full Grown Men (2006) (which he co-produced), Risk (1988), Blue Steel (1990), Godass (2000), Night Journey (1996) and Liquid Sky (1982). He also co-wrote and performed with Jennifer Tilly in the short film "Salvation for Giorgio Armani (1984)". His TV credits include Spin City (1996), The Cosby Show (1984) and Comedy Central's Premium Blend (1997). David writes and performs his highly acclaimed brand of comedy around the country and the world and is one-third of the comedy trio Unitard and one-half of the comedy duo The Duelling Bankheads. - David was born to Elizabeth and Julius Ilku, members of the renowned Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He studied at North Carolina School of the Arts and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the latter of which brought him to New York City, where he would continue to train with William Esper. Early on, he collaborated with other artists and musicians, which landed him a recording contract with Island Records as the lead singer of the alt-rock band, World at a Glance (1987). David's film career began with the cult classic, Liquid Sky (1982) and includes the lead role of "Joe" in the Indie film, Risk (1993), as well as roles in Blue Steele (1990), Life in Flight (2008), and Fair Game (2010). He also co-produced and performed in the film, Full Grown Men (2006). From his early television work on The Cosby Show (1990), and Spin City (1999), to today's Difficult People (2015), and At Home with Amy Sedaris (2020), David has always been drawn to comedy.
