- Jennings was the author of the plays No More Frontier, 1931, This Side of Idolatry, 1933, and American Wing, 1938. No More Frontier was produced on Broadway in October and November, 1931.
- Jennings wrote The Light upon the Mountains, a state history of Idaho set to music, and first presented at the University of Idaho in 1923.
- In 1938, he wrote the play "American Wing," billed as a 'pulsating New England drama,' as part of the Federal Theatre Project and the Works Progress Administration.
- His first network radio play was a story for the series "Free World Theatre," which premiered on The Blue Network (now ABC) in 1943. The series was dedicated to the war effort. Jennings' story was "Man With a Beard," and was based on the poems of Walt Whitman. The plays in the series were published by Randon House in 1944.
- Two of his screenplays were adapted for air on "The Lux Radio Theatre." 'Anna and the King of Siam" was broadcast on January 20, 1947, and 'Frenchman's Creek' was broadcast on February 10, 1947.
- (April 2 to 11, 1931) His play, "No More Frontier," was performed at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, California. Gilmor Brown was artistic director. Morris Ankrum was director.
