When son Micky received his first royalty check from
The Monkees (which he
described later as having "a dollar sign followed by a telephone
number"), he turned to Janelle to help him invest it wisely. She put
his money into relatively secure stocks and holdings, which weathered
Micky through some dry years after the Monkees ended, and left him with
the most to show financially, from the band. He in turn looked after
his family.
