- His animated short Potpourri won the Silver Boomerang (special award) at the Melbourne Intern. Film Festival (1974) as well as a Diploma of Honor at the Cracow Intern. Film Festival (1972) and some of the segments of "Potpourri" were included in Hanna-Barbera's "Joke Book". "Potpourri" was at Filmex in Hollywood. His film "O La La" was shown at the Viennale in Vienna, Austria.

- Les Kaluza and his wife, Erna, have one daughter, Sabine (b. 1961)
- Les and his wife live now in Oregon; he is painting and writing his memoirs. (April 2011)
