- A native Detroiter, Marc Kelly has been in the industry of film, television, music video, and commercials since 1987. After graduating from the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, he began interning at various local network affiliates and commercial houses around the Detroit area for two years, before gaining his first full time production assistant job with NBC's game changing sit-com, "The Cosby Show". The move to the NY/NJ area proved to be a fertile network of opportunities, as Marc would PA on other NYC based TV shows as PBS' "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?", along with NBC's "Here and Now" and "The Cosby Mysteries".
A switch to the film side of production exposed Marc to his first look at becoming an AD. Working on movies such as "Malcolm X", "Above the Rim", "Fresh", and "A Bronx Tale", and international spot work with Fortune 500 companies including Pepsi, Ford Motors, and AT&T, gave him valuable insight on leading a crew on set.
He parlayed that knowledge into the new wave of music videos channels that were growing across the television landscape. This career path saw Marc criss-crossed the globe, helping new and established recording artists entertain their fans with this bold new medium. Debut videos for Christina Aguilera, Nelly, TLC, as well as projects for all time greats such as Sting, The Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Enrique Iglesias, and Prince are some of the near 2000 music videos under his belt. For 4 straight years (2006-09), Marc worked on the #1 video in the country for either MTV's CMT's or BET's year end countdown. In 2008, he had 11 of BET's Top 100 videos, including spots #1, #6, and #10. And in 2010, Marc worked on Eminem's "Not Afraid" video, which is one the Top 10 most watched videos of all time on YouTube.
As newly accredited member of the Director's Guild of America, Marc has come full circle in his career path. He has begun this course by working on TV pilots, reality programming, and national ads for Chase, BOA, and Cialis.
With over 25 years of experience to work with, Marc will continue to be a trail-blazing force in the industry for decades to come.- IMDb Mini Biography By: marc kelly
