As a child, I first saw a snake with my own two eyes when one of the garter variety slithered through our front lawn and my mom, with a deep abiding fear, called my dad home from the office to slay the beast. (Or shoo it away. Probably that.) I maintain a healthy relationship with snakes: leave me alone and I’ll leave you alone. (I promise I’ll always leave you alone.) Of course, I love to see them in horror movies; the safety of the screen provides nothing but thrills when I know it won’t be coming for me. This brings us to Spasms (1983), a disjointed yet fun film in which a big snake in a big Canadian city wreaks big havoc.

The most memorable moment of the past seven days was the retirement of Daniel Bryan and there’s no argument about that fact. But as humbly as is possible, here is an offering of many other moments also worth remembering from this past week. These highlights might not be able to generate anything close to the emotions from the end of Raw, but they’re still pretty darn cool.
The following spots that have been selected include table breaks by two bitter Dudley brothers, moves from a Tna match that caused a certain Olympic gold medalist to bleed from his mouth, and a fall off of a ladder from a Last Luchador Standing Match that has to be seen to be believed.
There are 20 moments of in-ring action so lets get to it, beginning with a couple of rising talents from Ring of Honor…

Media companies have been gaga for online video this year, and the trend is showing no signs of letting up. And it makes sense. Most of these outfits, old and new media alike, already have the pieces in place—solid brand, sizable daily audience, top notch content, and competent ad sales teams. So it’s no surprise that everyone from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and now TechCrunch, Silicon Valley’s daily must-read, have launched their own networks of original web series. Dubbed TechCrunchTV, the network launches with six web shows, one daily and five weekly, featuring regular personalities from the popular tech blog like Sarah Lacy, Mg Sielger, Jason Kincaid and of course founder Michael Arrington. Evelyn Rusli anchors the only daily show so far, a tech news and discussion show called TechCrunch Now. A handful of outsiders were tapped for their own shows, like Keen On,...

The secret is out: the most innovative abilities of the new iPhone Os 3.0 are hamstrung by At&T's idiotic inability to keep pace with Apple. And people are pissed.
Once, that knowledge was the purview of the few, the obsessed, the technorati. "Why is the iPhone not subsidized?" they asked after the first iPhone in 2007. Customers flocked to buy it anyway. "Why is the new plan so expensive?" they asked of the iPhone 3G last summer. Again, customers smiled through the criticisms.
But this time is different: as I wrote yesterday, iPhone lovers--a rubric under which I proudly put myself--are sick of getting taxed for their enthusiasm by stiff upgrade costs, and they're no longer willing to exhibit the grace (or willful ignorance) they once did. It's not just that the new iPhones will cost more all around (but in a national economy where everything else is getting cheaper, that's...
